Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Brotherhood

The golden light of the portal faded as Axel and Olivia stepped back into the Multiverse Hub.

The room was quiet. Their Great Grandpa, Stan Lee, was not there, but he had left a note on the main table.

"Great job, kids! Masaki is safe, and the future is changed for the better. Here are your rewards! See you soon. Excelsior!"

Next to the note were two boxes wrapped in glowing paper. Axel tore his open like a whirlwind. Inside was a sleek, silver console.

"Yes! It's the Neo-Station 10! This thing isn't even out for another fifty years!"

Olivia opened her box more carefully. Inside was a thick book with a cover that looked like a moving galaxy. It was a book of history and science from the future.

"Exactly what I wanted,"

She whispered, a small smile appearing on her face.

They spent the rest of the night enjoying their gifts.

Axel played games with graphics that looked real, and Olivia read about things that hadn't happened yet.

Even though they were gods, they still loved their toys.

The next morning, the black limo dropped them off at Bayville High again.

Jean Grey was waiting for them at the front steps. She looked much more relaxed today.

"Good morning, Axel! Good morning, Olivia!"

Jean said with a wave.

"How was your... evening task?"

"It was a blast!"

Axel said, leaning back with his hands behind his head.

"I fought a giant fish monster and had the best rice in Japan."

Jean blinked, a bit confused.

"Japan?"

Olivia stepped in before Axel could confuse her more.

"He means we went to an alternative Japan."

The school day went by like a repeat of the first.

For Axel, it was a nightmare of boredom. He spent the whole time tapping his foot and staring at the clock.

For Olivia, it was wonderful. She sat in the library during her free period and read her future-book, learning about the secrets of stars.

Finally, the last bell rang.

"X-Mansion time!"

Axel shouted, nearly breaking his desk as he stood up.

When the limo pulled up to the X-Mansion, something was wrong. The front gates were torn off their hinges.

There was smoke rising from the lawn, and the sound of explosions filled the air.

"Oh no,"

Jean gasped, running toward the house.

"We're under attack!"

Axel and Olivia followed her. In the middle of the large lawn, they saw a group of mutants. This was the Brotherhood. They saw Pietro (Quicksilver) fighting a boy with a toad-like face, and Scott (Cyclops) firing his red beams at a man who looked like a giant mountain of muscle.

In the center of the chaos, two men were standing perfectly still.

One was Professor Charles Xavier in his wheelchair.

The other was a man in a red suit and a purple cape, wearing a metal helmet.

This was Magneto, also known as Eric.

They weren't fighting. They were just talking while the world burned around them.

"You are too soft, Charles,"

Magneto said, his voice cold.

"Humans will never accept us."

"And you are too angry, Eric,"

Charles replied calmly.

"Violence will only bring more hate."

They were the "big shots." They were letting the younger students fight to see who was stronger.

Axel looked at the fight. He saw the Brotherhood mutants pushing his new friends back.

He saw a girl named Rogue looking scared and Kurt trying to dodge fireballs.

"This looks like fun,"

Axel said. His eyes began to glow with a bright, orange fire.

"Hey, little sis! Can I go play?"

Olivia sighed, closing her future-book.

"Just don't burn the house down. It's a nice house."

"No promises!"

Axel shouted.

Axel jumped into the air. He didn't use a little bit of fire this time. He let his True Dragon God power leak out just a tiny bit.

The air around him turned into a heatwave.

"HEY! MOUNTAIN MAN!"

Axel yelled at the giant mutant, Blob.

Axel landed in front of him and punched the air. A massive fist made of God Fire smashed into Blob, sending the 500-pound mutant flying across the grass and into a pond.

"Who's next?"

Axel laughed, his wild smile returning.

He started moving like a meteor, leaving trails of fire everywhere. He was moving so fast that the Brotherhood couldn't even see him.

He was tripping them, burning their shoes, and making them look silly.

However, Axel was a "God of Fire." He didn't know how to be gentle.

The grass started to catch fire. The trees were starting to melt. The heat was becoming so strong that even the X-Men were starting to sweat and choke.

"Axel! Stop!"

Scott yelled, covering his eyes from the brightness.

"You're going to kill everyone!"

Magneto looked up, his eyes wide with shock. He tried to move the metal around Axel, but the metal melted before it could even get close.

"What is this? He isn't a mutant!"

The hell Axel was creating was getting out of control. He was having too much fun and forgot that humans and mutants are fragile.

Olivia saw that the situation was turning into a disaster. She stepped forward, her face calm.

"I told you to be careful, Axel."

Olivia raised both her hands. She didn't shout. She just whispered a single word:

"Void."

A massive purple and black dome erupted from her body. It spread across the entire lawn.

To everyone else, it felt like the world suddenly went silent. The fire didn't just go out; it was erased. The heat vanished. The smoke was sucked into a hole in the air.

The Brotherhood, the X-Men, and even Magneto were suddenly frozen in place. They felt like they were standing in the middle of deep space.

Olivia walked through the frozen crowd.

She reached Axel, who was standing there with a sheepish look on his face.

She poked him in the forehead.

"Game over, brother. You almost cooked our new friends."

She snapped her fingers, and the Void Dome disappeared. Everyone fell to their knees, gasping for air.

The fire was gone. The lawn was perfectly green again, as if the fight had never happened.

Magneto looked at the two siblings. He was shaking. He realized that if these two wanted to, they could end the world in a second.

He turned to his Brotherhood.

"Retreat! Now!"

The bad guys ran away as fast as they could.

Charles Xavier looked at Axel and Olivia. He was speechless. He thought they were Omega Level, but now he knew the truth. They were beyond any level.

"Sorry about that, Professor,"

Axel said, rubbing his head.

"I got a bit carried away."

"You... saved us,"

Jean said, breathing hard.

"Both of you."
