Chapter 25 - Nomu

"That's the last of them..." He muttered to himself. Blood was dripping down his face, stained on his hair and clothing. But they weren't his blood.

He dropped the bloodied villain he beat up, with the guy having taken a punch straight to the face before this. He looked at where the supposed leader of this League of Villains was, only to see a sea of unconscious, bloodied and battered villains.

"Sukuna! Have you managed to get in contact with sensei?! I can't hear him from here with my Quirk!" He heard Jiro shout over the communication device.

"No, I don't see him. He must've been transported further away from us—"

He turned around immediately after hearing a giant explosion from a certain direction.

"Hey! You saw that right—"

"I'm heading there." Sukuna muttered, ending the conversation with Jiro. As he disappeared from the central plaza, heading towards the direction where the explosion occurred.

In a certain area of the Unforseen Simulation Joint, Shigaraki stood before Aizawa, leaning against a boulder, coughing out blood uncontrollably.

"What a pitiful sight. It seems that your Quirk is useless against my Nomu here." The villain glanced at the hulking figure beside him. It looked nothing like a human, being a large, black humanoid monster with a muscular body that has many scars on it.

Its brain was exposed on the top of his head, while his large eyes were around it. It stood there, not moving a single inch, as if waiting for something.

"Tell the Symbol of Peace that he's wanted by Nomu..." Shigaraki muttered.

"Who's your boss?" Aizawa whispered weakly.

"Haa? Speak up, I can't hear you." Shigaraki taunted. Aizawa coughed out more blood, cursing at the fact that he couldn't move, his arms and ribs broken by a single punch from the Nomu.

"Who's your backer?" He gritted out.

"What? You don't think I'm the boss?"

"You? The boss? Not minding that Nomu, this whole operation of yours was planned out perfectly... And with full offense, you don't look like the planning type."

"Why you—" Shigaraki stopped in his tracks, hearing footsteps approaching him eerily. He quickly turned around, only to see Sukuna walking towards him, his red eyes glowing brightly.

"Sukuna... Don't do this... That thing will kill you..." Aizawa muttered out, feeling his conscience fading. Sukuna glanced at him, before breaking out a smirk and cracked his knuckles.

"Don't worry, I'm the strongest."

"Arrogant... brat..." Aizawa whispered before closing his eyes.

"You? The strongest? You may be able to defeat those chumps, but you are definitely no match for Nomu!" Sukuna stared at him silently.

Suddenly, the Nomu beside Shigaraki flew away without warning, slamming into a giant boulder, causing the debris to fall on it. Shigaraki stared in horror, before laying eyes on Sukuna who stood on the spot where the artificial human stood, now walking towards him.

"Oi... Get back... I said get back!" Shigaraki shouted, slowly walking back. 'What the hell is this kid?! He punched away Nomu just like that?!' He shouted in his mind. Sukuna walked towards him silently.

"I should kill you for hurting my teacher—"

Sukuna's eyes widened as a giant fist slammed into his left shoulder, a sickening crack had followed as he was sent blasting away. The pink haired teen crashed through multiple boulders, his body then breaking apart a metal railing before finally splashing into in a lake, slowly sinking down it.

Shigaraki chuckled, before that chuckle turned into a sickening raspy laugh. Nomu stood by him once more, having received no injuries from Sukuna's attack.

"What was that?!" Momo shouted hearing the loud banging from afar, her teeth gritting as she slammed her metal staff into a villain's face. She couldn't afford to be distracted though, so she continued her fight.

Mina gritted her teeth as she sent out her acid bullets, taking down multiple foes. She heard the sounds. She just hoped Sukuna was alright.

'What the hell...' Sukuna thought as he slowly sunk down. 'That thing broke my arm. I thought I'd broken something in him with my punch, but he came back unharmed... An artificial human huh... So if it's artificial, It must have some kind of regeneration and strength enhancement Quirks fitted into it then...' His injuries started healing itself.

'Initially I thought it would be an easy fight. But with that thing... Guess I have to put in more effort...'

He started swimming out of the water...

...

"Nomu, kill everybody here." Shigaraki muttered, bored from waiting for All Might. He might as well get rid of the pests.

As soon as Nomu took a single step, it paused, turning around to stare at a certain direction.

"What now Nomu—" Shigaraki's shouting paused, as he stared at the person he swore was already dead.

"You?!" Shigaraki pointed at him in disbelief.

Sukuna, with his outfit being the only thing damaged, stood tall as he stared down Nomu, ignoring the weird noises Shigaraki was making.

"Finish this bastard!" As Nomu charged in to punch Sukuna, a large chunk of ice suddenly shot up and Nomu slammed into it while raising both of its arms doing so. Breaking through it, it was faced by Sukuna already standing before him.

Fitted with a loud bang, Sukuna punched the Nomu in its gut. 'It took no damage?' He thought before quickly trying again, this time placing more strength to it.

'Cancelled again.' Sukuna thought as Nomu sent a punch towards him, before the giant fist was encased in a giant chunk of ice that sprouted out of the ground.

With a flick of his wrist, Sukuna sent multiple giant slashes towards Nomu, dissecting it open as he took a couple of steps back. He glanced to his left, noticing Todoroki walking up to him, his usual serious expression on him.

He and Todoroki had never interacted at all, but Sukuna had respect for his strength and mastery over his Quirk. "You sure you don't want to help the others? This one's a tough nut to crack." Sukuna asked, noticing that Nomu was healing its injuries.

'What a slow regeneration. Or maybe I dealt too many wounds that it needs to divert its healing power...If a couple of Dismantles got it to act like this. Then how about Cleave?' He theorized in his head.

The difference between Dismantle and Cleave was simple. Dismantle is a broad, simple cutting technique, and Sukuna is able to fire it at anything, while the power in the slices is based on how strong Sukuna wants it to be.

Cleave is the adaptive precision cutter. It adjusts to his opponent's durability. In real time, the slice automatically calculates the exact output needed to slice his opponents efficiently. If his opponent was a weak civilian, it barely needs effort. But in this instance, his opponent was the Nomu, a thousand times more durable, which meant that it scales up.

Todoroki spoke up. "They're doing just fine. This... thing... whatever it is...some cursed version of the Hulk maybe... It needs to be dealt with quickly. I'll help you get it done." Todoroki nodded at him. Sukuna was silent, facing a fully healed Nomu once again.

"Don't expect me to babysit you. If you get hit, don't say I didn't warn you." Todoroki nodded, getting into a stance as Sukuna charged towards Nomu once again.

Nomu tried moving, but suddenly ice encased its feet before Sukuna appeared before him, his hand near its torso. In an instant, a bunch of deep lacerations appeared all over Nomu's body. Sukuna sent a fully powered punch, sending it blasting away.

'I knew it.. So there is a limit of how much damage it can absorb at once.' He thought as he blitzed towards it, arriving before it while the Nomu was still flying away. Stretching out his left hand a little, he used Cleave, as Nomu was blasted away further, with hundreds more deep cuts appeared endlessly, slicing its body up mercilessly.

With the amount of injuries it has, the Nomu's Super Regeneration Quirk was going on overdrive, not being able to heal the lacerations on time before a bunch more had appeared the next second.

Sukuna grinned as he grabbed one of Nomu's giant arms before easily flinging him towards a flat boulder. Todoroki, without a word, rushed towards it before sending his ice, freezing Nomu's lower body in place.

Sukuna then appeared before it in a blur, fists clenched tightly, his piercing eyes sharpened. His grin widened, knowing that he won.

That's when it happened. Reality hiccuped as he threw his punch. For a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a second, the world turned inside out. Space bent around his knuckles, an indescribable crack tore through the air.

Black lightning spread from the point of impact. The Nomu didn't even register the attack at first, before it hit him, hard. Its body folded like paper. It went unconscious right then and there as the shockwave hit the terrain, the ground, Sukuna's own bones, his nerves screaming and exulting at the same time.

He felt his body perfectly synchronize, from his flesh to the depths of his soul. For a heartbeat, everything made sense to Sukuna.

The Nomu exploded backward, body tearing through the rocky terrain behind it like it was cardboard. Its body landed somewhere outside of the facility, in the forest, where it laid in a crater.

But Sukuna didn't care. He looked at his own extended hands. His heart was hammering, but his mind was eerily calm for some reason. Was this what they called enlightenment?

The black lightning had long faded, but the feeling remained, not disappearing anytime soon.

Sukuna laughed under his breath, a true laugh, feeling like he'd accomplished everything already with that one punch.

But Todoroki just had to ruin his emotional moment.

"You do know you're drooling right?"
