Chapter 30 - Planning

"Let's crush them at the sports festival!" Uraraka replaced her usual cheerful expression with a fierce look, her whole demeanor changing as Aizawa walked out of class.

"I'm gonna destroy them all!" She declared, raising her fist up, with the class mimicking her in response.

"Yeahhh!!!!" They all cried out like warriors.

Sukuna, fist up high with a neutral expression, was deep in thought. Meanwhile Bakugo was only raising his fist because he didn't want to get hounded for not joining.

"Uraraka seems motivated don't ya think?" Mina whispered to Sukuna, her fist up high as Uraraka continued spreading her motivation to the class.

"Mmm..." Sukuna hummed in response.

"What's up?" Mina asked him, knowing there was something on his mind.

"Just thinking about what sensei said. In addition to the tournament along with the other challenges and trials our class will have to join, we also have to run a stall of our own." His words caught the attention of the rest of the class.

"Oh yeah! Aizawa sensei told us that we have to create our own stall. I'm thinking we should do a food stall, like we did back in middle school!" Kirishima suggested. Momo shook her head.

"That'd be too simple, and there's already plenty of them so our chances of reeling in customers will be lessened. Besides, you know sensei, there's always a deeper meaning to the things he casually says. We shouldn't treat this lightly at all." She advised. Bakugo groaned.

"It's not that deep damnit! And why the hell do we have to run a shitty stall anyways? We'll be too caught up fighting our asses off in the tournament." He reminded.

"You do have a point..." Jiro mumbled.

"M-maybe there is a deeper meaning to it just like Momo said." All eyes turned to Izuku who froze at their stares. Bakugo scoffed.

"Oh yeah nerd? If you're so smart then tell us what's the point of busting out asses off!"

"U-uh..." Izuku gulped, looking at his classmates. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder. One turn of his head and he saw Uraraka smiling at him.

"Go on..." She muttered, encouraging him.

"W-well..." Izuku slowly stepped towards the front of the class.

"The sports festival usually advertises itself as just a battle royale...But the way I see it... it's actually a stress test of professional identity. Meaning that running a stall of our own after the fight is also a test too, one that will definitely boost the chances of us getting noticed by the pros."

"Ah. I see now!" Ida placed his fist on his palm, a bright expression on his face. He turned to the class.

"After a battle, heroes don't clock out after a fight and teleport home. On tv, you can see them debrief, manage press, reassure civilians and coordinate logistics. So you see, sensei wanted us to run a stall because it serves as endurance training for social labor." Ida explained.

"Ooooo....." The whole class replied. Tokoyami rubbed his chin(or beak).

"I see now. If one cannot function after exertion, one is not strong. They are only a burst."

"The hell are you spouting now bird brain?" Bakugo glanced at him weirdly. Tokoyami looked up.

"Try comparing burst strength with sustainable performance. The latter almost always wins careers. Think about emergency responders for example, not only do they save lives afford a disaster, more often than not they have to coordinate paperwork, talk to families, handle media, and file reports." He took the marker pen, writing down points for what emergency responders do.

"So if we translate it to something mundane as running a stall. It actually is a microcosm of hero society, with things such as training for crowd control, brand management, customer interaction andteam coordination under fatigue be the main reason for it." He continued, writing down another part, adding a cute drawing of a small stall, with some small cute drawings of his classmates.

"The hell is a microcosm. Is it like a bacteria or something?" Denki mumbled, to which Jiro snorted in amusement.

"So it is that deep huh..." Tsuyu mumbled, her finger on her chin, she then looked at Sukuna.

"We're not going to do something like run a takoyaki stall right?" She asked. Sukuna shook his head, amusement on his face.

"We're the hero department, Tsu, not Lunch Rush's students, no offense to him..." He extended his hand as Tokoyami handed out the marker pen.

"A food stall is out of the question. The Support Course is running a gadget showcase disguised as a test lab." He revealed, remembering what Mei told him the other day before blowing up one of her gadgets she wanted to display during the festival.

"The General Studies guys are running some sort of data booth called 'Find Your Ideal Hero Internship'. Basically for a price, you input your personality traits, Quirk type, and academic strengths. Then algorithm spits out recommended agencies, basically LinkedIn but for heroics..." Mina added before pouting and crossing her arms.

"Hmph! They completely stole my idea by the way! That could've been our idea for the stall!" She complained, regretting suggesting the idea to her General Studies buddies. Momo sighed.

"It's alright What's done is done, Mina... How about a merchandise store? But that'd also be too basic wouldn't it?" She mumbled after suggesting.

"That would be the Business Course's stall later." Sukuna stated, having overheard some of his business course classmates in one of his elective classes discussing about it.

"Wow, we're really out of options huh?" Hagakure laughed.

"How about something interactive? Something that gets people to see into our world even if it's a downgraded version of it?" Jiro suggested, a little taken aback as all eyes were on her now. They really can be scary when they stare at people like that.

"Hey... That's a great idea Jiro!" Denki nodded, immediately showing support. Jiro glared at him, but the small tinge of red on her cheeks was unmistakable.

"N-no one asked you! Geez..." She exhaled, shaking her head, ignoring Mina smirking slyly at her. She sighed, quickly regaining composure.

"There's definitely going to be children who are attending, so why not give them an experience they can't forget, like a small obstacle course, and make it competitive as well with a leaderboard, so they'd want to try again." Sukuna nodded at her explanation, writing the idea on the whiteboard.

"Maybe we can discuss logistics later?" Sero suggested, grinning sheepishly. "I'm kinda hungry, and recess time is almost over."

"We're not particularly in a rush. Festival's like three weeks away." Sukuna muttered, placing back the marker pen.

"C'mon, let's go eat—"

"Midoriya my boy!" Everyone looked at the door, seeing the ever muscular All Might peeking in with a big grin.

"Would you like to..." All Might pulled out a bento box. " Eat with me?"

'Why does he sound like a teenage girl?!' Class 1-A thought to themselves, some even laughing at the number one hero's antics. Izuku promptly left with All Might, not before apologizing to them for not being able to eat with them.

Todoroki stared as Izuku left with him, before turning back to the class, who were all staring at him creepily.

"You say one word and I'll kill you." Bakugo threatened.

"Seriously? I didn't even say anything..."
