Chapter 35 - 1-A's Era

"Welcome! Welcome! One and all! To the annual UA Sports Festival!!!" Present Mic announced, being the announcer for the freshman stage. The rowdy crowd cheered, matching the vibe.

"Let me guess! Y'all came here to see them right?! The miraculous stars that shrugged off villains like they were all veterans heroes in disguise!! You're here for Class 1-A right my fellow listeners?!" He grinned, as the cheering became rowdier.

"Geez Shota, I swear these kids have more fans than Endeavor sometimes." He mumbled to himself after distancing himself from the microphone.

"Now that's stretching it, Hizashi." Aizawa mumbled to himself, wondering how he got roped into joining Mic. Present Mic, otherwise known as Yamada Hizashi, glanced at his bandaged colleague.

"You wanna go see them?" He asked.

"I'm gonna ask Nezu for a remote control wheelchair... I can't be seen doing this shit..." Aizawa grumbled, as Mic laughed while pushing the man.

Meanwhile inside the waiting room for Class 1-A, the situation was tense after Todoroki and Izuku's declaration. Sukuna walked in between the two of them.

"Why'd you go challenge Izuku and not me, Todoroki? Ya scared?" Sukuna asked with a smirk. Bakugo stepped in, still grinning like a psychopath, a four way stare down happening between them.

"Who the hell would be scared of your bitch ass?" Bakugo taunted. The others watched, unsure of what to do. Even Ida was speechless. There was no way he was stepping in to stop them, he'd either risk getting hypothermia, his face blown off, his body chopped into minced meat or a field trip to Smash City.

"Oi. Fight's out there, not here." They stared at Aizawa entering unannounced with Mic behind him.

"Problem children, all of you..." He muttered under his breath.

"I'll be outside." Mic excused himself.

"Sensei!" Mina grinned, running in to hug him. Aizawa had a deadpan as she did. No student, heck even a teacher, had the guts to hug him before, except for Mina of course.

"Cheer for us, okay sensei?" Uraraka grinned at him. Their sensei sighed.

"Just don't do anything I wouldn't and you'll be fine. But yes... I will be supporting you all." He simply said. He looked at the four that were arguing before he entered.

"Settle it out there, and whatever happens, I don't want to see any of you holding grudges after this."

"Yeah yeah whatever." Bakugo grumbled. Just then, Mic knocked on the door and entered the room.

"Hey, not to ruin the moment but you guys are up, and I need to continue announcing before the audience get bored." He motioned them to exit the waiting room.

"Bye sensei!" Uraraka patted Aizawa's shoulder as she exited the room. Each student promptly followed her, patting their sensei's shoulder and bidding him farewell.

Sukuna placed his hand on Aizawa's shoulder, staring down at the man. "What?" Aizawa asked, looking up.

"You'd get a show, but we won't show too much either. Who knows, they might be watching." Sukuna spoke vaguely, though Aizawa understood what he implied.

"Here I thought I was going to see something new from you all." He smirked at his student.

"Just get ready for some surprises. They've worked hard these past few weeks. But unfortunately for me, I'm not gonna be cutting someone up until they're half dead on live TV, so it'll be the same old brute force, All Might style." Sukuna smirked, placing his hands in his pockets.

"What a bummer." Aizawa replied sarcastically.

"Ciao, sensei. I'm proud to be your student." Sukuna waved as he walked out, hands in his pockets.

"Geez, what's with all this emotional talk from them. It's not even the end of the year yet." Aizawa grumbled, but he noticed something. Strangely, his body felt lighter. It was almost as if he could do a certain action again...

"Alright Shota, let's go— WHAT THE FU—"

Present Mic walked in and almost received a heart attack on the spot, as he saw his friend standing up from his seat, already removing the absurd amount of bandages wrapped around his body.

"Shota... Y-you..." He pointed shakily at Aizawa.

'So that's why his hand was on my shoulder for that long... But really, healing powers? No wonder he was unscathed when he took Midoriya's punch that day. What doesn't he have at this point?' Aizawa questioned, shaking his head before looking at Present Mic whose jaw was still dropped.

"Close your stupid mouth and let's go."

...

"Introducing the stars of the show... CLASS 1-A!!!" The audience erupted as Class 1-A stepped into the stadium. Izuku gulped, nervous at the amount of people that attended.

'It's sold out!' He panicked, seeing that there weren't any empty seats anywhere, though he wondered where his mother was sitting.

"Izuku honeyy!!!" Oh... there she was.

Izuku looked at a certain direction to see his mother, Inko, jumping up and down waving at him, tears rolling down her eyes dramatically.

"Inko, calm down. You're gonna flood the place if you keep crying like that." Bakugo glanced, immediately spotting his mother, Mitsuki, sitting beside Inko calming her down while his father, Masaru was waving at him with a smile.

"Tch..." He snorted, secretly a little happy that they came to support him.

"Oi Katsuki! You better win this!" His mother shouted from afar. Bakugo somehow heard it from afar(probably due to his mom sensors), and grinned.

"Do your best Momo!!" From the VIP section, Momo's parents, both black haired, could be seen clapping for their daughter while Momo's mother cheered like crazy.

"Beat them all up son!!" Kaori shouted, not at all reserved at supporting her own son. Jin smiled, staring down at Sukuna who looked up at them with a smirk, walking lazily to the middle of the stadium with his hands still in his pockets.

"Umm I just wanna ask... Are you two Sukuna's parents?" Kaori looked to see a pink beauty accompanied by a brown haired man with small horns protruding from his head.

"Yes, we are. And you are?" Kaori smiled politely.

"I'm Maya and this is Kano. We're Mina's parents. We've been wanting to meet you guys for a while." Maya grinned at them. Kaori widened her eyes and squealed.

"Really?! It's so nice to meet you!" They greeted each other with a hug like they were long time friends, while the two men shook hands and nodded at each other.

"So, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. Is my son dating your daughter?" Kaori got straight to the point.

"Oh, they definitely are dating. But like, Mina's so scared of taking it to the next step."

"Blame my son, he knows she has feelings for him but he doesn't want to pop the question either." Kaori groaned.

"I'm still not okay with this by the way. Mina's still too young to have a boyfriend." Kano interrupted. Maya rolled her eyes.

"Oh come on honey, let her live a little. Besides, don't you think Sukuna's the perfect guy for her?"

"From what you've told me, they are the polar opposites of each other." Kano stated. Jin chuckled a little.

"My son can be a little aloof sometimes, but I know he means well." He replied. Kaori nodded.

"He's the type of guy who still lets Mina drag him to a festival even though he complains about the noise." Kaori added.

"I swear if they don't get married...I mean c'monnnn, they clearly like each other!" Maya whined, a little frustrated having to witness this cat and mouse game between her daughter and Sukuna.

"We should give them time. Look, it's already starting."

...

'I just know mom and dad are talking about me.' Sukuna thought in annoyance as he stood in front of the line, being class president, with Momo behind him. He glanced to his left, noticing the other classes staring at them with a raging hunger in their eyes, angered at being treated like the sideshow.

"Settle down kids!" They heard their sensei, the R-Rated Hero: Midnight, cracking her flogger-style whip to gather everyone's attention.

"I'll be overseeing the freshman stage for today. Principal Nezu as always is overseeing the senior stage. Now, player representative, please step up!" She commanded, cracking her whip. Sukuna sighed, lazily walking up the platform.

"It's obvious he'd be the player rep." Izuku mumbled, remembering that the man had placed first during the entrance exams, though it seems that the General Studies course only looked at their class with extra disdain.

'Not like we asked to get attacked.' He thought, sighing to himself. He could understand them though. Imagine training just as hard, maybe harder, and watching another group get spotlighted because villains chose the wrong building to invade.

For the other courses, the festival is a rare shot at transferring into the hero course. If Class 1-A dominates attention, that narrows opportunity. So the frustration becomes sharper.

Though 1-A does carry some trauma from the USJ. They're under huge pressure. They're not celebrating. But to outsiders, they look like media darlings. That's why through this festival, 1-A is forced to justify the spotlight through their performance.

"Oh honey look, our son's gonna make a speech." Kaori patted Jin excitedly.

"Yes dear, I can see that."

Sukuna stood near the microphone, an unimpressed expression crossing him as he stared at most of the students from the General Studies course that glared at him.

'Well, here goes.'
