Chapter 27 - Banter

(L move by Mina tbh, but it is what it is, she's the girl who forgets what boundaries are sometimes. But it's okay, humans make mistakes sometimes.)

...

"Y'know that Quirk Singularity conspiracy really makes sense now." Denki commented, with Jiro nodding in agreement.

"It's like a super evolution happened when your parents' genes combined. That's pretty much all of our cases here." Jiro added.

"But Sukuna, are you really okay with all of us knowing that?" Ida raised his hand to interject. "Mina didn't exactly ask for your permission before forcing you to tell us about it. Forced disclosure by peers is improper and unethical!" Ida called her out, entering full parliamentary committee mode, causing everyone to look at Mina.

"Yeah, kind of a mistake on my part. Hehe... sorry Sukuna..." Mina apologized, rubbing the back of her head. Sukuna stared down at her silently.

While he didn't exact felt comfortable being forced into this situation, he also wasn't one to dwell on such things. Besides, even with this information at hand, what can they do about it in the first place?

"It's fine. Since we are going to be possibly teaming up in the future, I'll just see this revelation of my abilities as a way for us to create future battle strategies." Sukuna effortlessly mediated the situation.

"But still, this counts as an invasion of privacy." Ida argued, ever the stern man. Uraraka smiled awkwardly.

"Ida, for everyone's sake. I think we should just listen to him... After this battle, somehow I really feel like I've gotten closer with all of you guys, and I really don't wanna see this new chemistry ruined, you get what I mean?" Uraraka admitted. Ida paused his rambling, quieting down, settling into deep thought.

"So...." Everyone looked at Tokoyami, who became a little tense at the sudden attention towards him. " What do we do now? Are we supposed to just... go home?" Tokoyami asked. Everyone paused for a moment.

"You want us to go home in this?" Kirishima raised an eyebrow, pointing at his own costume. "People would probably think we're pro heroes or something. I don't think anyone's in the mood for unwanted attention, man."

"What do you suggest we do then?" Hagakure wondered. "Everyone's busy with the investigation, and I don't see the bus anywhere." She added.

"Guess our best choice is to just wait..." Tsuyu mumbled. "Though I'm really in a rush, my little brother and sister are waiting for me. And I don't exactly trust them to be able to take care of themselves." Momo patted her back in assurance.

"Midoriya seems to be having fun..." Jiro commented, her eyes staring at a certain direction. They saw Izuku in the middle of a conversation with All Might.

"Tch. Shitty nerd's probably just being an annoying fanboy." Bakugo snorted. Denki narrowed his eyes, focusing on the two.

"Well I don't know... He's kinda got a serious face on him. Unless it's about some deep moment like All Might saving his family or something."

"It could be that..." Todoroki muttered, as everyone looked at him. "Midoriya is actually All Might's secret love child..."

"Do you want me to kill you icy hot?!" Bakugo shouted, small explosion sparking around his hands, while everyone stared at him with a horrified expression. Just imagining Izuku's mother with All Might made him want to puke.

"Dude... so uncool." Kirishima shook his head. Todoroki blinked, not really knowing how to read the room.

"What? Did I say something wrong?"

"YES!!!!!!" Everyone shouted in unison.

Todoroki tilted his head. "But don't you guys feel suspicious as well?" He asked, wondering if he had misheard all of their previous little conversations.

"Well yeah... but I think we have more important things to focus on to be honest with you." Denki replied, surprisingly being the reasonable one.

" So... Do we drop it?" Todoroki continued.

"It's for the best." Momo nodded.

"Ah shit, my mom's calling..." Bakugo muttered, taking out his phone as he went away from the group.

"You're making good progress with One For All, young Midoriya. Keep it up! Now go back to your friends, the bus should be arriving soon." All Might patted Izuku's shoulder, with the green haired boy nodding before he ran off.

"You know after that fight, I figured a new training regiment would be a priority. Any ideas everyone?" Momo asked. Mina hummed, tapping her chin.

"Don't you already have one personally made by the teachers from the quirk mastery elective?" She asked. Momo sighed in response.

"I do. But it's just a downgraded version of the plan that I already use before this, my original plan is wayyy more intense than what they made, no offense to them."

"They probably gave you something light because you just started out here. No teacher would immediately start a first year off with maximum level difficulty." Ida reasoned.

"I know that, and I am grateful that they care about my well-being. But I do take pride in challenging myself." Momo smiled.

Sukuna hummed. "Then you'd need a plan that allows you to use your lipids efficiently. And you'd also need drills that help you create objects while under intense pressure. But you probably already figured it out yourself, yes?" He glanced at her, to which she nodded.

"So what's the point of asking us then if you already had it all figured out?" Jiro grumbled. An embarrassed Momo laughed nervously.

"You know... Just trying to make small talk. The wait is boring."

"I should probably get myself a new plan as well. I can't be falling behind now." Uraraka smirked. Momo then had an idea.

"I know, how about I get some people to help in creating training plans for you all? It'd require a small sum, but I can get it done in no time."

"Gurl, your definition of 'a small sum' is the type of money you win from the lottery. We're not going to spend your money like that." Mina interrupted with everyone nodding in agreement. Most of them remembered the moment Momo revealed that her family had hired actual scientists and biomechanic experts to assist her in training.

"The hell are you guys talking about?!" Bakugo shouted, stomping back as he put his phone in his pocket.

"What'd your mom say?" Kirishima asked.

"Asked me why I ain't home yet..." He grumbled. Momo cleared her throat before continuing.

"But seriously, it won't cost much at all. All you need to do is to submit details of your quirk and these experts will do the rest."

" The hell? You recommending us private trainers or something?" Bakugo side eyed at Momo.

"Yaomomo wants to hire scientists to help create training plans for us. But you know her, her perception of money is waayyy different from ours, so you can imagine how much it would cost her." Jiro explained.

"I wouldn't want to impose such a burden on you..." Izuku smiled politely at her. Momo sighed, palming her forehead.

"Guys, seriously it doesn't even cost that much." Bakugo snorted at her claim.

"I'd sooner believe pigs could fly than whatever bullshit you spouted out!"

And so, the banter continued until the school's bus came to pick them up. Even then, the banter still didn't stop.

Class 1-A aren't just mere strangers to each other anymore, they're comrades that bonded over a battle.
