~Scene Continues, Soutarou POV~
Nono's eyebrows and lip twitched as she watched as Soutarou stared at a paper and tried to form hands only for the serpent sign to look more like a couple holding hands. Nono clutched her forehead and thought, 'He's such a genius, but he has so many quirks… and now he's making a kissy face and playing with his hands… I thought he was mature… but nope! He's still a damn kid.'
Nono in annoyance whacked Soutarou over the head.
Nono spoke up, "Soutarou pay attention and next if you don't mind could I bring someone along?"
Soutarou's eyes lit up and he schemed, 'What the hell? I was planning on bringing it up that I'd like some friends or something… but this works perfectly. Prevent Madara's resurrection from the source! Better yet, convince Nono to make Kabuto a Konoha citizen and then drag him into the Konoha Academy and brainwash him with the will of fire. I'll hand him over to the monkey on a silver platter if he can do it properly. Then I'll brainwash him with the great, majestic, handsome, and humble will of Soutarou!'
Soutarou's mind flashed for a second before he smiled and put on his innocent face and made metaphoric stars appear in his eyes as he said, "Really? You'd bring me a friend?"
Nono who for the first time was none the wiser actually felt her heart ache, before nodding softly. Soutarou smiled happily and did a little silly celebration dance showing his real emotions.
'If I can have Kabuto on my side that'll completely change the end game. Though I'm not sure how it'll affect Orochimaru, it's better to ignore that bastard and just pray for the best because just how valuable Kabuto is… though if he's a lost cause early on… I'll kill him, he's an unstable factor and I'm afraid that I can't allow him to run amok unchecked. How ironic I've never thought about killing someone so seriously… now I'm willing to do it just to protect my future interests… I wonder… will the me ten years from now be someone I recognize?'
Soutarou's eyes turned cloudy for a moment before he seriously said, "Then since you're bringing someone else along next time we have to seriously learn so I can show off!"
Nono sighed exasperatedly before shaking her head and saying, "Alright show me the handsigns you spent so long staring at. And don't start making your serpent sign and pretending that your hands are kissing or that a couple is holding hands. Try to envision your chakra pathways. Though I imagine this'll be much easier for you as you're a natural sensory ninja. Still show me your hand signs and after we've confirmed that you've got them all down correctly I'll guide your chakra."
Soutarou took a deep breath for a moment and put on his serious face, calmly formed the dragon handseal, before moving on to tiger seal, then the dog seal, the rat seal, the ram, the horse, the monkey, the bird, the ox, the serpent, the hare, and the boar seal.
'I know there are special hand seals too, but I'm guessing those involve clan techniques, kekkei genkai, and secret or special techniques. No matter… I'll figure things out as I go.'
Nono smiled and nodded before saying, "Two more times just so check that you really have it down."
Soutarou repeated without fail, albeit his hand seal speed was about one seal per second.
'Damn how do those bastards do four or even five seals a second? What about on handed seals? So complicated… and is it possible to not use handsigns?'
Soutarou's eyes stayed locked on Nono, who nodded pleasantly and said, "Alright pay attention and focus on your sensory field as narrowly as possible."
Nono moved behind Soutarou, got down on her knees then stood up on her knees bringing her arms to Soutarou's level and held his hands in hers and began moving her chakra.
'This damn position! I'm so glad I'm not a teenager in this body or I definitely would've popped a boner… those bastards in my last life were absolutely right… it's always the bitches in nun outfits! Where does she hide those things… holy… FOCUS SOUTAROU! Women are temporary, the grind is eternal.'
Closing his eyes he focused solely on feeling Nono's chakra as she took his hands and formed the first sign.
'Tiger'
She repeated the chakra flow several times and the hand movements until even without her showing Soutarou replicated it causing Nono's chakra to flare momentarily in surprise. Soutarou frowned and opened his eyes and said, "What's the matter Nono-sensei?"
Nono stared at him with a blank expression and said, "You aren't supposed to be able to just copy the chakra flow… the reason the ninja academy was made in the first place was because someone is supposed to guide you in the process of the hand signs and the corresponding chakra flow… what you just did is essentially what Uchiha with their sharingan do. They copy the chakra flow… and thus the corresponding jutsu. Uchiha with a sharingan normally know all the handsigns and how to flow their chakra properly… what you just did is part of that process. Copying chakra flow. Normally when someone teaches another hand signs they have to let their chakra flow into the other's chakra pathways to… to allow them to understand it…"
Nono looked at Soutarou as if he was absurd.
'Well isn't this a peculiar thing… doesn't this mean that if I get good enough at sensing I could theoretically just copy people's jutsu just from watching them with my sensory field?'
Nono stared for a bit before saying, "Try to copy the next few just by observing I need to verify something."
Soutarou nodded in agreement knowing this might be another trait he could take extreme advantage of. Watching Nono's chakra flow through her pathways and chakra system, Soutarou pinpointed the general area and flowed his chakra through his fingers forming a dog seal.
'Dog'
'That wasn't that hard? She just did the signs like five times and flowed her chakra. The only reason I even needed that long is I was just verifying the specific chakra paths on the finger tips… I'm pretty sure if I memorize the chakra pathways I can most definitely copy other's jutsu. Now I understand if Tobirama or Hiruzen had something like this rather than calling them a genius of jutsu they're just damn Uchiha with extra steps. Shameless absolutely, shameless!'
Nono on the other hand pursed her lips and thought for a moment before asking Soutarou to follow up with the remaining seals. Without paying attention to the time, the pair continued to work through remaining seals. At the end of which Soutarou was smiling like a madman. Nono on the other hand had her normal smile, however, her real expression was rather hard to read. She then quietly reminded Soutarou to rest well and that she'd see him next week. Along with assigning him a boatload of homework and busy work. Everything from information on the previous Kages of the Five Nations, to the history of Konoha, and the formation of the will of fire. Along with several dozen low level math problems, a few higher level practice ones as well to gauge Soutarou's level, dozens of literary works, and lastly the instructions for the basic three academy techniques.
The moment Nono left Soutarou threw her advice out the window and began preparation to stay up all night and learn some damn jutsu.
'So damn close… I now know why everyone's made to learn the three academy jutsu… it's to practice forming chakra and then holding it in one's chakra system before projecting it properly to form the technique. While I basically cheated my way through the formation. Projection copying still needs to be tested, otherwise I won't be able to have a Pseudo-Sharingan. Still even if I don't have the projection part down I can still experiment and eventually get the projection down as well… though that'll take more time.'
'I'm guessing that the differentiating factor from Tobirama being Tobirama Uchiha. Oh and the nerve response time too. So many damn things require nerve response time… it's better if I start training that from when I'm young and developing it might help my eyes and reflexes to naturally develop in that direction. Fly Thunder God. Chidori. Rakiri. Chidori Variants. High level lightning release in general. A really well developed personal body flicker. Honestly the backbone of Shinobi combat until the absolute Pinnacle of Kage Level is speed, most shinobi simply don't have good physical defense meaning with absolute speed you can overcome almost anyone. That's why Minato was so feared, that's why the Second Hokage Tobirama Senju was so feared, that's why Shisui becomes so feared and it's why the entire Raikage line earns as much respect as they do, though in the Raikage lineage's case they combine absolute speed with high defense too. Which just goes to show almost each and every one of those figures turned out to either be one of the strongest of their generation or the strongest. The strongest second generation kage and the only reason Konoha won the First Great Shinobi War, Tobirama Senju. The strongest of the fourth generation of Kage, and the only reason Konoha won the Third Great Shinobi War, Minato Namikaze. Well whatever, my point got across… Speed is key. Meaning I need to develop my physical speed, which I'm holding off on until Nono approves. On the other hand I can probably start with jutsu.'
Soutarou's eyes flickered over to the scroll Nono left behind for him. He pried it open ignoring everything else and whole heartedly paying attention to just the scroll… By the time he finished, he wondered why he was feeling so sleepy.
'Man I got lost in that scroll… who'd think that they'd explain the three academy jutsu so well? So much content… Good content. Explanations behind each of the jutsu as well hints as to which direction each jutsu goes. The Clone technique is just an illusory technique that's entire design is meant to be intuitive so that learners can then use it in conjunction with the substitution technique. The jutsu is purposely designed to be slightly imposing on chakra control as a measure to force students to learn and self improve on their chakra control. Man Tobirama was such a genius, he wanted students to figure out new chakra control methods and this bastard took those methods and turned them into real things. Water walking and Tree walking existed even long ago in the Sengoku or Warring states era. But, concepts like coins or weight object sticking or multi-leaf sticking is entirely a new concept that came from students themselves. At least that old coot credited the poor kids. Here's where things get really interesting: the substitution technique is actually just a clone and a manipulated transformation technique. There is nothing called a substitution technique in reality, it's just diversion and combining the two together. Which confused me as to how Naruto could do this, but not the clone technique. Until I read further and found that this bastard Tobirama used an easier version of the clone technique to create the substitution jutsu. So Naruto will actually be an idiot. Wow you learn something new everyday. Transformation technique isn't all that complicated, in fact of the three it's the easiest and only one Tobirama didn't create. Not to say this bastard didn't modify the formula and reduce the challenges on chakra control, he made it from an elite genin technique to a pre-genin technique. Before one would have to actively or instinctively supply chakra to maintain a transformation, but Tobirama's technique cuts corners and instead forms the jutsu in a manner that makes it continuous without the handseal. Genius. Grandpa? I, Soutarou Morita, declare you the smartest of them all! Man, I wonder what other jutsu that old water coot improved… Yeah if that bastard was allowed to live any longer he definitely would've been that one guy saying "Ah yes my Anti-Kumo/Iwa/Suna/Kiri-gakure technique that I haven't used since the Sengoku Era," not to mention how many more anti-uchiha techniques he would've made. Maybe an uchiha bloodline suppressor that removes the sharingan part of the bloodline? What a pity, if only Tobirama existed before Madara then I could just live in peace.'
