Chapter 3 - The Birth of the Absolute Monarch

"We battled in many wars between demonkind and humans alongside with gods."

"We won every one of them, eradicating demonkind every single time."

But..

At a certain war, the Demon King stood present alongside his entire army.

It was the final battle for humanity's freedom.

After the clouds shifted—

Yusaka charged forward, sword in hand. Activating Faint Step, he vanished in an instant, reappearing behind a demon and cleanly severing its head.

"No matter how many I kill, they keep coming…"

Yusaka muttered, breathing heavily, sweat dripping down his face.

He forced himself to calm his composure.

"Are you alright, Ri—?"

His voice died out.

Yusaka's eyes widened.

He saw a spell strike Rin, blasting apart the ground where she had been standing.

Yusaka rushed toward her, worry gripping his chest as his vision blurred and his breathing grew ragged.

After the smoke cleared—

Yusaka's mind could not comprehend what lay before him.

Rin was lying motionless on the ground.

He rushed forward and pulled her into his arms.

"R-r-rin…! Open your eyes, please…!"

Tears spilled from his eyes as his vision blurred further.

For a brief moment, he felt as though he were falling into a void.

But he ignored it, his composure shattering completely.

"Rin, please open your ey—"

His eyes widened again.

His voice fell silent.

He understood then—Rin was dead.

It felt as though his entire world had crumbled and vanished.

Yusaka cried out.

Soon after—

A god approached.

"Hero! What are you doing?"

"Why are you holding a demonkind in your arms?"

"I have already slain this demon," the god said proudly.

Yusaka's mind and vision blurred completely upon hearing those words.

As he fell into the void, a voice whispered within him.

"I'll kill every demon."

"I'll kill every god."

Yusaka found himself standing in a white room, facing another version of himself.

"You have to kill them, don't you?"

Yusaka Zero whispered.

"They killed Rin. You have to kill them."

"Every god. Every demon."

"Kill them all."

Yusaka's vision cleared. His senses returned.

"Are you alright, Hero?!"

"Are you listening to me?!"

"Hero?!"

The god continued shouting.

Yusaka gently placed Rin's body down.

He stood up and picked up his sword.

The god grew irritated when Yusaka failed to respond.

"I'll teach him how to behave on the battlefield,"

the god muttered to himself, rushing forward.

As the god charged, he saw Yusaka standing still, sword resting calmly in his hand.

The god blinked—

Yusaka vanished, as if he had never been there.

"Where did he go?"

The god stopped and looked around.

"Hero! Stop this nonsense! This is a battlefield!"

he said, his expression calm, though a cold anger settled within.

"I should leave him—"

The god attempted to accelerate.

He blinked again.

His head fell to the ground.

"H-huh…? What happened?" the god muttered.

As his vision blurred and death closed in, he saw Yusaka's face.

"I will kill all of you,"

Yusaka said, his expression calm, as though he had nothing left to lose.

"I will kill all demons…"

"And gods too."

That was the war humanity lost—

At the throne room—

Regulus sat upon the throne.

"Do you truly intend to go alone, Hero?"

Regulus asked Yusaka.

"Yes,"

Yusaka replied.

"Hero… I am truly sorry for what happened in that war,"

Regulus continued.

"But it was an incident.

The god never intended to kill her."

After an awkward silence settled between them—

Yusaka spoke.

"When we were summoned…

Rin was brought here by mistake.

Someone said it was the gods' mercy."

His gaze remained calm.

"But to be killed by a god?"

"Rin did not deserve that."

His expression did not change, yet suppressed anger and hollowness settled deep within him.

"I will go and kill the Demon King alone,"

Yusaka declared, his voice steady and his mind clear.

"I don't need anyone—

not even the gods."

He murmured the last words, their weight heavy with emptiness.

Dark clouds swallowed the sky.

Heavy rain fell as violent winds howled.

Within the Demon King's castle—

Yusaka spat blood onto the ground, his body riddled with injuries unlike any he had felt before.

He was being cornered.

"Hahahahaha!"

The Demon King laughed.

"You cannot defeat me alone, Hero!"

he said proudly, his expression unshaken.

"Even the gods could not kill me.

So how could a mere human like you succeed?"

Laughing, the Demon King advanced.

"I hope we never meet again, Hero!"

"I see…"

Yusaka replied, his voice steady and his thoughts clear.

He activated a secret skill.

In an instant, his wounds vanished.

His mana was fully restored.

And—

He stood behind the Demon King.

The Demon King turned.

His eyes widened, death looming close.

Yusaka drove his blessed sword—Revmana—into the Demon King's core.

"The gods will abandon you now, Hero,"

the Demon King muttered on the verge of death.

"I abandoned them long ago,"

Yusaka replied, his expression calm, his voice hollow.

"Now vanish, Demon King."

The Demon King disappeared from the world as if he had never existed.

Shortly thereafter—

An orb fell to the ground.

"So this is what the Demon King used…

to create his own spells,"

Yusaka murmured.

He picked up the orb and shattered it.

Yusaka acquired the power of origin magic.

One by one,

Yusaka eradicated every god.

But—

The final god was the creator of all that existed.

Heavy clouds churned above, violent winds tearing through the sky.

After a cloud drifted past—

Yusaka rushed forward using Speed Step, charging toward the Creator of All.

Before him stood the Creator of All—

an existence so vast that the universe itself seemed no more than its shadow.

The Creator of All raised a single hand.

In an instant—

Yusaka was forced to his knees,

pure lightning piercing through his arms and legs.

The sword Yusaka wielded—

the Blessed Sword [Revmana]—

lost its power, unable to withstand the existence before it.

Yusaka gave a faint smile.

He released Revmana, letting it fall to the ground.

Using Origin Magic, he formed a new blade.

Its name was [Yaikatsu].

Yusaka activated a secret skill.

All of his injuries were restored,

and even the pure lightning could no longer restrain him.

He advanced once more toward the Creator of All,

moving with his original speed skill,

his hand firmly gripping Yaikatsu.

As Yusaka closed the distance—

The Creator of All attempted to invoke Absolute,

a spell meant to erase everything that existed—

even itself.

The Creator of All saw Yusaka rushing toward him.

But—

After another cloud passed—

Yusaka vanished into the air.

The Creator of All realized what Yusaka had used.

But—

It was already too late.

Yusaka appeared behind the Creator of All,

hovering in the air,

his sword Yaikatsu poised in his hand.

Yusaka struck.

The Creator of All vanished,

as if it had never existed.

But—

All that existed reached its limit

and began to destroy itself.

Yusaka picked up the orb of the Creator of All

and shattered it.

"Now… have I become the One Ruler?"

Yusaka murmured.

Yusaka felt Yusaka zero vanishing,

Alone, he remained within the void—

with an emptiness that nothing could fill.

Yusaka became The One Ruler,

the one who controlled everything.

5 years passed...

After becoming the One Ruler,

Yusaka unified every human kingdom on the continent,

forming a vast empire named Greator Anvicia,

and ruled it under an absolute monarchy.

Within the throne room—

Yusaka sat upon the throne,

his right cheek resting against his right hand.

"Are you sure about this, Yusaka-sama?"

a certain man asked.

"Yes,"

Yusaka replied calmly.

"And you have no right to change my decision."

"I understand, Yusaka-sama, but…"

the man hesitated.

"After you saved us from the demons—

after that incident…

don't you want someone to save you as well?"

"Shut up."

Anger edged Yusaka's voice,

yet his expression remained calm.

"Do not force your sympathy upon me.

Do not pity me.

You have no right to do either."

"Y-y-yes…"

the man replied, dropping to one knee, fear trembling in his voice.

"But,"

Yusaka continued,

"I will leave everything to you for the next five hundred years—

and to the other six Primordial Monarchs."

His mind was clear.

His words carried no hesitation.

"I will return after five hundred years.

Until then, all Primordial Immortals

will bear the responsibility of governing this empire."

He lifted his gaze.

"Kezeioth—Ruler of Universes."

"Remember this,"

Yusaka said, his voice steady.

"You and the other six Primordials

are the most trusted subordinates

I could have ever wished for."

"But…"

Even you were unable to fill that emptiness.

Yusaka murmured the words to himself,

his eyes vacant, his face pale,

staring into nothingness.

Yusaka closed his eyes.

His body dissolved into pure mana,

slipping into slumber for five hundred years—

leaving behind an empty throne,

one no one was capable of ever reaching.
