We moved across the plains under the guidance of Rana and the transport of the spear in search of slime kind. Rana had found a large population of them nearby so that is where we were headed to. I was particular on our surrounding being new to this whole sword and wizardry life. Rana kept assuring that all was okay and that there were no enemies in the immediate vicinity that I could not take down. Obviously, she was thinking too highly of little old me. After a while of flying, we came up on a ravine, or rather a valley with steep jagged rocks. Rana now told me to be on my guard because the slimes that she found were not just any ordinary slimes. I was a bit puzzled by this and was about to ask when the spear moved to the side dodging what looked like green sludge. I looked back to see that it was acid.
Rana said that it was my only active skill called ' Auto-dodge S rank '. I was glad Shikamaru had a heart big enough to give me such a useful skill of the bat. Then the slimes caught my attention telling me to look in front of me. It was a weird green slime. I asked out loud whether that slime was sick but Rana told me that it was a toxic slime. The slime trio confirmed this and followed it up by saying that it was a type that secreted toxic acid that melts iron in an instant. That got my attention as i summoned the spear. I was on edge but the slimes calmed me down. The said the slimes we were to hunt was all on them since they wanted to evolve. This reduced the pressure I was experiencing but I was unsure whether to really let them take care of it on their own when I watched as Blue dashed forward and slam right into the slime. The slime was sent flying secreting acid in all directions but Elio sucked up all the acid like a freaking vacuum. Then he burped before saying grace.
Aqua finished it with a water cannon attack that cut right through the slime's soft exterior shell. The core fell to the ground as the flesh fell to the ground with a lage hole through it. Elio diligently brought me the core as Aqua and Blue devoured the flesh. I do not know where I sit in terms of cannibalism even if they are slimes. With that the slimes' levels rose up quite a bit. Now they had the determination to hunt even more of their kind. Elio asked me to wait for them on the outskirts of the valley as they hunt just in case nothing bad happens to me. They also promised to bring back all the cores they found so I was in no reason to refuse their offer. I gladly accepted as I moved out of the toxic and possibly poisonous valley and sat on a small field nearby. I wanted to get a clear understanding of the magic I now possessed. Water magic is not relatively strong but it has many uses.
As Rana explains. The fundamental law and principle of magic is that magic is a mental construct of mana given form in the living realm. Mana is passed through multiple circuits in a mage's body called ' mana veins ' which are all unilaterally linked to the brain. This is different to aura which is commonly used by warriors and swordsmen who have aura veins linked to the heart. Mana is then exerted out of the body via the limbs through the mental fortitude of the user. Aura is commonly referred to the fighting spirit that is emitted by the warrior-class that greatly increases their physical abilities. A mage and a warrior are fundamentally the same in theory but when put to practice, very few humans ever reach the pinnacle of strength as easily as a mage. That is why mages are considered world powers in the world and a great military asset.. A warrior of great talent can also be considered a one man army which is a title much higher than that of an arch mage. Now we come to the paladins. These are beings, not people, that are chosen by the Decagon pantheon of gods who reside over this universe and space after every century. They are seemingly the messengers of the gods they represent and exert said god's will upon the people. Paladins are regarded as the pinnacle even at a beginning stage due to having the null attribute. Most paladins tend not to use this to its fullest as too much magic messes up with their mental fortitude and health unlike the Beast god paladin and the sky god paladin. These two were always revered to be the most versatile in magic in all generations. As of now, the strongest paladin would be considered to be the weapon paladin who was training from birth and weakest to be the nature paladin who still strives for strength even though she is against violence. I was ranked as ten due to my already attained skills of spearmanship from the old owner of my body and my quick IQ which was at least ranked as first.
Rana did not mince her words when she told me to stop being weak already. A system with a load of humor I see. But she was not wrong, if I want to be strong and protect what I hold dear, I need power. Power that I currently lack. While I was still pondering what Rana had said, slimes came back looking bigger with a deeper shade of blue. They looked even more energetic and hectic than ever before. Then Rana spoke up saying that the slime trio had defeated a hundred slimes total and met the requirements necessary to evolve. I asked how they could evolve and Rana simply said that I should supply them with mana. That was all I need to do. I had no idea on how to even begin so Rana ran me through the steps. I put my hand out and visualized mana leaving my finger tips. My arms started to glow following the slimes glowing too. This went on for ten seconds when Rana said that I could stop. As soon as I stopped, I felt dizzy and Rana said that I was going to pass out due to my low mana capacity. I laughed as I said," I truly am weak, huh?"
I passed out there and then.
