Chapter 23 - Joke? The queen already spawned the biggest one

"Carry my luggage Lily, Si-eun commanded as he stepped down from the carriage, leaving Leona who was still seated within the carriage with a tired look on her face.

He turned to stare at his sister, concern etched on his face.

He didn't know what trouble she had, even though she'd been nothing but an annoying bitch since she came he couldn't help but feel a sense of worry.

Something didn't feel right about her situation, no… scratch that, nothing felt right about his entire situation.

The unknown reason for Leona's hatred, the numerous bad endings just waiting to be triggered within a moment's notice, the princess who somehow knew of the body possession.

Everything felt overwhelming.

Just thinking about it gave Si-eun a massive headache.

From the way the Princess sounded it seems like it wasn't the first time this body was possessed.

But who? How was that even possible.

Well Si-eun didn't want to think about it.

'Argghh! What a load of stress.'

He strolled forward with confidence, his eyes tired and unfriendly.

As he got closer he saw the two parties involved in the commotion.

Sure enough, Prince Kyle was involved.

His silver hair gleamed under the sunlight, his hazel eyes narrowed in contempt as he regarded whoever was unfortunate enough to listen to his foolish rambles.

He was dressed in a finely tailored tunic, which was seemingly made from a deep blue silk with gold embroidery, he had white pants which was meticulously tucked in to his attire with a leather belt.

"He looked the part of a prince at least." Si-eun muttered to no one in particular.

Lily had already gone to receive his luggage, from the corner of his eyes he could see the coachman lending her a hand, while Leona was undoubtedly waiting for her own maid to arrive.

He didn't wait, didn't linger around the chaos like the rest, instead he stepped into it, walking past the crowd with boredom written on his face.

It didn't take long for him to reach the center of the chaos where Prince Kyle was currently yelling his guts out at the other party, no doubt because his pathetic ego had been hurt or whatnot.

The other party on the other hand took him by surprise.

The person had a slender build, which effortlessly exuded grace, she wasn't particularly tall with her height scaling around 5'6 ft tall, yet she carried herself with quiet confidence.

Her skin was porcelain and flawless without a single blemish on her.

Her hair, a silvery white reflected with an icy sheen. It was short, just stopping a few inches around her shoulder with ends curled softly, creating fluffy ringlets that framed her face.

She had bangs which fell over her face and sides, giving her a gentle but stylish look.

Unlike the Prince, her outfit had a gothic military aristocratic style.

The top was a tailored black jacket with royal blue lapels and accents, gold chained decorations draped across the chest area, with sleeves slightly puffed at the shoulders which tapered down before flaring into ruffled cuffs trimmed with lace.

The midsection was tightly fitted like a corset, structured with vertical gold trims and buttons, the dress further highlighted her hourglass figure giving her an air of elegance and maturity despite her age.

Her skirt was layered and ruffled, its materials likely made out of a black silk with clear cobalt blue underskirts peeking out beneath.

She wore a semi transparent black stocking, it had a glossy and smooth look extending up to her thighs and beyond which further complemented her formal attire.

She looked breathtakingly beautiful yet Si-eun was only focused on one detail.

Her eyes.

Those cyan eyes of hers which stared at the prince with a slightly aloof expression.

Si-eun let his gaze linger on her, but not for long.

He chuckled inaudibly.

"The Princess of the Avalion kingdom, Tyrisa d'el Nyx."

Yes, this was the true face of the assassin who'd once been spying on him during his little playtime with the assassins sent to kill him.

He delayed his steps a little, just enough for Lily to catch up and when she did, he continued moving.

Kyle was letting out some series of improper words at Tyrisa, who stared at him as one would do a fool.

'Seriously doesn't this guy ever shut up?' Si-eun couldn't help but question, feeling a sense of exasperation as he approached them.

His hands were tucked within his pants, his tunic, a rather unamusing black tunic with silver embroidery which he casually donned, hugged his frame tightly.

As he got close enough, the both of them noticed him.

He payed them no heed as he proceeded to pass in-between them peacefully, just minding his business… until a firm hand grabbed his shoulder.

Just as he had anticipated.

"Well well, if it isn't good ol Azazel, truly the heavens must loath me this much to send two stumbling idiots to my presence, how unfortunate." Kyle snarled.

Si-eun's lips twitched slightly, his eyes darkening with glee.

'At least he got one thing right, the heavens indeed loathed him enough to send him my way."

He turned towards the Prince, lips twitching into a rather forced smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.

It also didn't escape the prince's notice.

Kyle's face morphed into an ugly grimace but he was quick to compose himself.

Si-eun sighed then recited in a monotonous voice.

"I greet the fourth sun of the empire Prince Kyle Jerome Evangelion."

He didn't bow, a clear sign of disrespect but one he purposely did.

It was beneath him to bow to someone of the same status of him.

While Kyle was a Prince, Azazel was an Astavore, as such, Si-eun didn't feel the need to show him respect.

The Prince gritted his teeth, veins bulged on his forehead but Si-eun merely stared.

Eventually the Prince managed to force his words.

"I heard you awakened finally, how sad it must be for the Duke to finally watch his son awaken just to end up a jester. He taunted,"Care to tell us a joke, clown."

Tyrisa frowned slightly, after all she'd caught a glimpse of Si-eun's abilities and from what she could tell, he was by no means weak.

'A Jester class? That's unheard of, if he's a jester then how did he use the Arcane Myst fire, that's exclusive to mages alone.' She questioned inwardly but remained silent.

Well Si-eun on the other hand smiled like someone had just handed him the most amazing present of his life.

Lily stood a few distance away from him, her eyes watching intently at what her eccentric young master was scheming.

She could already smell trouble brewing

Si-eun laughed.

"Ah you overestimate me your highness, but as much as I'd like to tell a joke befitting for a royal, I'm afraid that spot has already been taken..."

He paused, then grinned.

"...By none other than the Empress herself, it took her nine months to deliver the joke but here you are, your royal highness Kyle, a testament to her Majesty's hard work, and I must say… she delivered a rather ridiculous one."
