Chapter 22 - Arrival.

"Young Master, young mistress… we've arrived." The coachman announced.

The journey had taken them three days but they still arrived quite early, that was because Leona had insisted they left before the due date.

The coachman, God bless his soul, didn't look so lifeless anymore, at least compared to the rest who looked like life had gone through them.

Leona hadn't slept for the past days, her appearance looked worn out, deep bags settled beneath her eyes which seemed so dull she might as well have been a corpse.

Si-eun on the other hand had PTSD, he was tired but didn't deem the danger of staying awake at the cost of his health to be greater than experiencing that pain once again within the dreamscape.

Lily… well she looked fine if your definition of fine was the same as an addict experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

She looked fine outwardly but her eyes told a different tale, she was just one step away from madness.

No seriously they all looked like shit, now it was the Coachman's turn to be confused.

The past few days, while uneventful were undoubtedly memorable.

For once, Leona and Si-eun didn't banter, they simply didn't have the strength to.

Lily had been the one to hunt their meals much to her discomfort.

She couldn't say anything because she was just a mere personal servant, still she'd given control over the body to Liliana during the hunts. Liliana enjoyed the sight of blood but Lily hated it, because each time she saw crimson, Liliana's excitement would seep through, turning into a madness that threatened to overwhelm her.

So who else but Liliana could handle her own madness?

In any case there weren't any ambush since the first incident, truth be told Si-eun wasn't in any shape to handle unwanted attacks.

Leona seemed so out of it, much so that if they were to be ambushed, she'd simply burn down the entire carriage with everyone in it.

Lily couldn't risk revealing her identity, while she was expected to have a certain amount of combat prowess as a personal maid for a child of the Astavore's, some situations were simply out of control for mundane means to be useful.

During the past few days Si-eun had also learnt more about his new blessing or rather his evolved blessing.

Ouroborus was an SSS ranked blessing which to be frank was well beyond the level his soul mirror had assessed it to be.

The effects of the blessing were divided into its passive and active skills.

It had two passive skills and four active skills, three if we were excluding the domain.

The passive skill, serpent's hide, allowed Si-eun to coat his skin in a protective layer of hardened scales which seemed almost transparent, save for the subtle hue of green it possessed.

The second passive, Flawless physique, enhanced his body to the degree that was incomparable to that of a top athlete.

He was nimble and flexible, his body although developed well enough, now had a more defined appearance to it.

His skin now appeared a lot paler than it used to be, his eyes to had changed, becoming more sharper and attractive like that of a mythical serpent.

It also gave him a certain resistance to most poisons as well.

The active skills were equally as impressive as the passive, perhaps even better.

The first skill, Ouroborus eye, allowed him to see what others couldn't, he could see specters and other sorts of spirits, his eyesight during the activation of this skill became far more enhanced than what a normal eye was capable of, he could even see things from a few miles away, quite impressive, a skill that would've suited a marksman better since he was classless or a jack of all trades of sorts.

Anyway it also allowed him to peek into the soul mirrors of others, an action a righteous self proclaimed protagonist would have never done but Si-eun wasn't by any means a moral man.

He was an extra with a red marking of death on his head at every turn of the game, he didn't have a plot armor like the protagonist, neither did he have some sort of assurance to keep him alive.

So in all honesty he didn't really have the luxury of choice, especially when it came to his morals.

The second skill, Serpent's fang, allowed him to coat his attacks with lethal poisons.

Whether his fists or dagger or even his rapier, no matter what it was as long as it was deemed an attack or an item to be used to attack, the skill could be activated.

The third skill, Serpent of end's Aura, allowed him to form a massive construct much alike to a gigantic serpent.

This skill acted as a debuff to his adversaries.

It could imbune his targets with fear, causing the stat of his opponent to decrease slightly if they were affected, not only that, the stun effect from the fear, held them long enough for him to deal a significant damage.

Lastly, the domain.

It allowed him to manifest a small piece of the Serpent's domain as per his summon, however Si-eun hadn't gotten the time to test it out during their little voyage.

The main entrance to the academy was wide open, well to be frank, calling it an academy didn't do justice to the sheer size it held.

And that was even from a distance.

The academy was an entire town on its own, with inhabitants housing all kind merchandise needed for basic survival, there was literally no need to leave the academy grounds.

They weren't the only ones around though, it seemed like a few noble houses had decided to travel before the main sessions started, just like his sister had suggested.

Just as they were about to dismount the carriage, a small commotion started just a small distance away from them.

Si-eun's eyes twitched in annoyance as he heard a painfully familiar voice.

"How dare you filthy thing bump into me, are you blind?" The voice yelled.

Hearing the voice Si-eun couldn't help but smile in dark satisfaction, after all he'd had quite a rough time during his travels, what better way was there than to relieve a bit of stress with a royal fool.

Because the voice belonged to none other than the fourth prince, Kyle Jerome Evangelion.

"Ohoho… I'm going to enjoy screwing this retard up." Si-eun muttered in-between quiet chuckles.
