When he opened his eyes, Hiro found himself in a strange room.
White curtains surrounded the bed where he lay, and the scent of disinfectant and laundry lingered in the air. His head throbbed painfully.
As he slowly tried to sit up, a hand gently rested against his shoulder, stopping him before he could move any further.
"Wait, don't get up yet," the familiar voice said softly.
Hiro frowned, turning toward the person sitting beside him.
"Izack…?"
The alpha sat quietly on the chair next to the bed, his elbows resting on his knees. He looked exhausted. His neatly styled auburn hair had grown slightly messy, and the coffee sitting untouched on the table beside him had long since gone cold, with no steam rising from it.
"What happened?" Hiro groaned, rubbing his temples. "Why am I here?"
Izack parted his lips, ready to answer. Then he hesitated. He didn't know whether he should tell Hiro everything.
