Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Silver Wolf

Soon, the police stepped forward and cuffed Ogawa Yuki's hands.

Before being led away, Ogawa Yuki couldn't help looking back at Stelle for confirmation; after receiving her firm nod, he gave a relieved smile and quietly let the officers take him.

Scotch found the whole unexpected sequence almost too much to take in.

"Ahem." He walked up to Stelle, who was still waving goodbye to the departing Ogawa Yuki, cleared his throat, and said with deliberate coolness, "Stelle, well done. You actually got the Robber to let go of his own accord. I wonder—when he gets out and sees his child's grave, will he blame his bad luck for grabbing someone he never should have crossed?"

Scotch's tone carried the casual disregard for life typical of a crime-syndicate member.

"Wow! Scotch—ah, Midorikawa—you really have no conscience!" Stelle retreated two steps and looked at him with disdain. "I'm not like you; I keep my word!"

"…" Scotch was momentarily speechless; it was the first time a fellow gang member had accused him of having no conscience.

Still, judging by Stelle's tone, she didn't seem to be lying. Was she seriously planning to start a company? The organization wouldn't allow such nonsense… Before he could ask, he heard Stelle preparing to leave the mall and go straight to Ogawa Yuu: "Come on, time waits for no one! A sick child can't wait. Let's get the kid treated, then find a lawyer and sue Zhiteng Company for start-up capital. After that we'll work on reducing Ogawa Yuki's sentence so he can help us faster!"

While dragging Scotch toward the exit, Stelle cheerfully mapped out the next steps, completely forgetting the original reason they'd come to the mall.

She also forgot the couple who'd only just met and barely exchanged a word.

Akemi Miyano watched Stelle's retreating figure with curious eyes; she hadn't expected such a kind, normal girl to exist inside the organization.

Hearing Stelle's plan, she grew curious whether the girl would really take Mr. Ogawa's child to hospital, so she tugged Rye's sleeve. "A-Da, let's follow and see?"

Rye didn't refuse; he too was intrigued by the mysterious, eccentric girl's next move.

Ignoring the people behind them, the forward-pulled Scotch couldn't help asking, "Stelle, you're just walking off—do you even know where the child is?"

"Of course. I just asked Silver Wolf; her hacking's amazing—she sent me Ogawa Yuu's location." Stelle held up her phone for Scotch to see.

"Silver Wolf?" Scotch glanced sideways—another unfamiliar name, apparently a codename.

"Yep, she's Kafka's friend," Stelle said offhandedly. "She loves games; after my company finishes its VR game we can invite her to play—though she'll probably find it boring."

******

Soon Stelle led Scotch to the hospital.

Evidently Ogawa Yuki had already brought the child here, but without money he couldn't afford more specialized treatment.

Scotch noticed that Stelle didn't ask the staff; she went straight to Ogawa Yuu's ward.

That meant Miss Silver Wolf's intel had pinpointed the exact room number.
