Sasha is waiting for Annie in her room. You might be wondering how but Annie gave a spare key for her to hop in anytime she want. That's to tell you how close they were and how much they trusted each other. Sasha keeps waiting as she munch on the remaining Pringles Annie kept at a corner. Boom the door flew open revealing distressed Annie. Sasha raises her head to see Annie, they both locked eyes and burst into laughter.
"Girl, you're looking like you just escaped a psychiatric hospital." Sasha says looking at Annie's rumpled hair with shoes on her hand, barefooted.
"I really don't want to talk about it" Annie replied avoiding Sasha's curious eyes.
"You know I won't buy that! How was the interview?" She asked.
Annie looks at her and sighs. She knows full well how Sasha is.
"Well... It was a total mess. I don't even know if that was an interview. He was so mean! And guess what?"
"What?" Sasha responds more curious this time.
"I've met him before!" She blurted.
"Really? Bring it on."
"Remember when I told ya a weird guy gave me his food and also bought me another plate of food?"
Annie asked looking at Sasha to see if she can remember.
"Oh yes, the weirdo you said offered you a lift but when you rejected he zoomed off nonchalantly..."
"Yes that same guy!" Annie snapped.
"Wow, so what exactly happened? I mean give me the full gist."
Sasha looked at Annie with a serious but curious look.
"You are just too in a haste " Annie says teasing her.
"Whatever " she replied.
"I won't lie to you A&R is such a big company... my dream company at that. So when I got in, I met the receptionist. The crazy receptionist of course. You could see the way she was instantly rating me ..
God! I felt so bad—like I didn't hear everything she was saying but it was so obvious she was rating me up and down. To cut the long story short, a guy walked in, poised looking, and I'm not going to lie to you... all eyes were on him. Dude was like... Get me the rest of the applicants! The moment I turned, guess who it was?"
"Who? Same guy? Sasha asked more curiously now.
"Yes of course" Annie replied.
Wow! Sasha exclaimed. Who is he? is he some kind of...
"My dear, the receptionist asked me to follow him so I did. My gosh the air was so tight, but I just have to put on the act. He asked some few questions and he was sounding so nonchalant. I was expecting him to ask me where did you study, how grounded are you in interior decor, let me see your certificate and all that but guess what? He only picked something from my CV, where I said I know many dignitaries. If I want to be honest, I regretted ever listening to you."
"Wait, what? Sasha eyed her.
"Yes! I said what I said. You put me in that position and guess where that landed me into?"
'where?"
He didn't ask me any questions concerning interior decor, hejust moved straight to telling me that he is going to link me up with some high profile members and I'm likely to already meet them before."
"Damn! I Wasn't expecting this part. That dude is smart." Sasha responded shaking her head in a pitiful manner.
But do you know the Crazy part?
"He asked me to leave and as I was about leaving, he picked up his pray and sprayed the office. It was so embarrassing... what does he mean by that?" Annie asked still feeling embarrassed.
"Well I think he smells trouble! Sasha said thoughtfully.
"Trouble wouldn't have started if you didn't give me your creepy ideas. Now, how do I do this? I need to prepare for a meeting with people I know nothing about . I'm not even from affluence. Annie gets an email beep from her phone. She quickly checks it. It was a message from A&R group of companies stating when and where the meeting will be held. Her heart skipped again. Sasha watches and asked.
"What's that? " Sasha asked curiously
Annie handed her the phone.
"how do I go about this, I really need this job!" Annie gets up, scratching her head and pacing around the room.
"I told you before act like it! Be confident, be poised!.." she blurted.
Annie looks at Sasha, almost eyeing her...
"You and your silly motivations, look at where it landed me..."
"Chill Sis, it's not that bad yet."
Annie gets infuriated now.
"Do you mean till it gets worse? Now tell me, how do I handle this? I would have simply come out truthfully. I badly need this job you know that"
Annie sits back on the bed sighing in frustration.
Sasha watches her getting her point. She only wanted to help her best friend so bad. She never meant any harm. She too scratches her head and thought of a plan to come up with.
Miss smart future planner... Any idea yet? Annie asked almost impatiently.
Sasha looks back at her trying to hold back the laugh that about to explode from her mouth.
"Really? You think this is funny?" Annie asked, infuriated now.
"Honestly, I feel you got this... You're that girl!" Sasha replied.
Annie looks at her astonished this time, wondering what the heck is wrong with her friend.
"And you think this helps? You're so unbelievable!."
"Girl, you don't have anything to worry about, just do some research about the company, do some research about those people and trust me, you'll get your shits together!" Sasha explained waiting for Annie's response. For a moment, Annie paused to think about what Sasha has just said.
"You do have a point!" She affirmed.
"Yea I always do!" Sasha replied.
Annie looks at her eyeing her.
"Proud Bitch!" She said...
"I know right..."
