Synopsis
Selen Ravenhurt was born to rule. As the heir to one of the Empire’s founding families, and promised to the Crown Prince since childhood, her future had always been clear. She would become Empress. Not through love or fate, but through power. She had never believed in fairy tales. Only in control. Until the day everything changed. Before the eyes of the entire court, a blinding light consumed her. In an instant, Selen became the Saintess—the miracle the Empire had been waiting for. Worshipped. Revered. Untouchable. And yet, something was wrong. Her power was real, but the world did not change as it should have. The miracles felt incomplete. The people around her—the High Priest, the Prince, even her own family—watched her too carefully, as though waiting for something. Then, the truth revealed itself. And everything she believed in collapsed. Stripped of her power, betrayed by those closest to her, Selen came to understand a single, unforgiving truth— she had never been meant to rule. She had only ever been meant to serve. But death is not the end. Given a second chance, Selen returns to a time before everything was taken from her. This time, she will not wait. This time, she will not trust. And this time— she will be the one who decides how the story ends. “I have moved this story to Royal Road. All future chapters will be published there.”

Chapter 1 - Prologue

Selen had lived one of the most honorable lives in the entire empire, yet on that day, the most miserable death awaited her.

Kneeling on the filthy ground, she looked at the sky one last time. It's a beautiful day, she thought.

Her gaze then drifted to the lifeless body of her half-sister lying not far away. If someone had told her a few weeks ago that she would die beside her bastard sister, she would have laughed until tears came to her eyes. And yet…

When her own sword pierced through her, all the memories of her life flashed before her eyes. The day of her engagement to the crown prince. The day she received God's blessing and became a saint. But also the betrayal of her husband on the very day of their wedding, followed by that of her brother and her mother.

As she felt life leaving her, the last face she saw was the horrified one of her brother.

She almost laughed.

"See you in hell, my brother."
