Chapter 1 - Ch1- Travelling Through

Sol looked at his surroundings.

Darkness was the only thing that explained the environment.

He tried to remember what had just happened.

Sol tried to ask around, yet what he spoke was not answered, "Is anyone there?"

Silence.

He tried to move around the space.

And found something chilling, he was no longer breathing, he was no longer feeling the urge to breath, it was like, like he was dead, or he was an alien.

Yet he dismissed the second, and remembered the car coming at him and thought the first was more likely, so asked himself, "Is this, afterlife?"

Again no reply, even he couldn't reply, because he himself was unsure.

Then he thought aloud, "If this is my end, if this is my afterlife, then let it be. I will endure this silence to become a sage!"

Saying this, he tried to sit.

But found that a tail had grown out from his behind, and not merely a thin one like a Saiyan's, but a thick, lizard like, smooth tail with sharp bones growing on it.

Sol was stunned, he asked, "What is this!?"

And he started to believe in the second possibility a bit.

He said, "Could I be?..."

Before even finishing his words, he shuddered, his body feeling a chill so deep that it seemed to freeze him in that very moment.

Slowly time passed, and he came to senses and started touching his body to find in horror, that it seemed that he had transformed into a non human being.

---

An unknown amount of time passed without him realising, and he was still there.

He didn't know how, but he survived so long without food, without any reference, it was hard for him to tell if he had been there for one year or a hundred years.

The space was lacking in air or prey, it had no water and looked like outer space yet had gravity.

But he estimated it to be at least more than a decade.

Why?

One may ponder why, but that is simple to be answered, because...

He was slowly starting to forget what he was, where he was, his past life, it was as if, he was there to lose all his memories.

---

"Why?!!!"

A shout rang out in the dark space, and a figure, darker than darkness itself rushed forth.

In a single leap, it covered the distance of several dozen metres, and arrived in front of the walls of the darkness that loomed like the end of the world.

Whoosh... Whoosh...

Several sounds of tearing the air came, and the long claws of the figure pounded the the walls, but nothing happened.

Not a scratch appeared, not a dent mark to see.

At this moment, the figure, slowly gave up.

Sol fell to his knees in grievance.

---

He had realised his new bodies abilities over the period of time.

He could jump 15 times the height of his body, run 6 times faster compared to his human form, had long claws and a large jaw full of sharp and gleaming teeth, his skin was non-existent, as he had an insect like exoskeleton that his claws couldn't even penetrate, had a long tail with sharp bones, and his head was elongated, with two pair of predatorial eyes that could freely change from normal vision to thermal vision, x-ray and even night vision.

It was thanks to this vision that he was able to find the end of this cage he inhabited.

---

"Oh heavens above!" he shouted, "What is the purpose of this life of mine! I have forgotten what it felt to live!"

Sol looked up at the black roof that seemed like the heaven to him, and continued:

"I have forgotten who I am other than my name itself that I have barely managed to remember..."

Sol knelt there, frozen in time, his expression like a dead man's, or a dead alien's.

No one could guess what he thought.

But he knew what he was thinking, he was trying hard to remember all his life.

Yet to no avail.

Finally he got up, and said, "I have had this emotion long ago, I have not eaten in years, not breathed a single breath, not seen any form of existence, so have I lived in vain?"

At this moment, a glimmer of fighting spirit ignited in his eyes, and he said, "If you want to imprison me! Then it'd better for me to die!"

Saying so he moved, moved with precision towards his own neck and just as he grasped his own neck.

His sharp claws gleamed even in darkness as his neck began to give in to his power.

But before he could continue, it seemed as if something in the dark, realised that Sol had lost all he could and suffered the pain he should have, so...

A sound came:

"Ding! System initiated.

Host, want to travel the myriad worlds?"

Sol looked around, an found a light spot appear a hundred metres away from him, in the centre of the space.

A pain stung his eyes, for he who hadn't seen light in ages, finally saw light, that burned his vision away.

Yet his excitement grew.

His eyes light up, finally he saw something, that didn't require night vision.

And just like a spectre, he moved and appeared in front of the screen in a second.

---

Sol was excited for a moment, and tried to recall what a system was, but he forgot what a system was.

Remembering the loss of memory, his mind raged and he coldly looked at the panel in front which showed the option:

"Yes or No."

Sol asked the screen in hopes of starting a conversation with the inanimate.

He asked, "What is the meaning of this? Rather..." his eyes glinted with killing intent as he paused to continue, "What is the meaning of all this suffering and my and your existence?"

The panel remained silent, unmoved like a mountain.

Sol looked annoyed and slashed at the screen, but to his dismay, the claws passed through without encountering any resistance.

Yet he didn't give up, he continued to ask like a mad ghost, "Who are you?"

He asked again and again countless times yet to his dismay, there was no reply.

He finally slumped down, mentally tired, and said, "Fine, yes."

But the foolish thing didn't budge, and he got up.

Sol then once again started to observe the screen calmly and clicked 'yes', for it served no purpose for him to live in the darkness.

---

As Sol clicked 'yes', the space around him distorted and appeared a 100 wolf like creatures in the darkness.

The system chime rang out:

"Ding! Host, this is your test of ability, if you pass, then you'd gain access to your first world and basic information about yourself!"

Sol looked at the wolves in front and unexpectedly, his first action was not an attack.

But to use his mouth to take in air.

Huff... Huff

Sounds of long breaths escaped him, you have to know, it was his first breath in years and even if he didn't feel like breathing, he still breathed.

After calming, he stopped breathing, he stopped it because he did feel his mouth involuntarily breathing, so it was hard for him to breath constantly.

Finally, he looked around to see wolves appearing in the space.

His alien face showed a cruel smile and he said while raising his claws, "Alright, time to eat."

Yes, he didn't take the system's words to heart, in his eyes, those who come to his layer, are his prey, and this feeling seemed to stem from his very blood.

---

The first wolf rushed over, followed by the others, and soon they appeared in front of Sol who stood unmoved.

The first wolf opened his jaw to bite Sol, but just as his mouth was about to Sol, Sol's figure vanished.

And he reappeared, in the midst of the horde.

Sol's body seemed to instinctively dodge and fight.

The wolves were startled as they witnessed their opponent vanish from the spot to reappear amidst them.

Before the wolves at the front reacted, Sol's figure flashed as his claws danced in a flurry of moves that seemed to practiced to perfection.

His muscles moved before his thoughts, his mind raced as it slowly started to catch up.

His body seemed solely made for slaughter.

Sol slashed here and there, from merely looking like a master, it took him no time to truly become one.

His body seemed to made for battle, his blood wanting food and war.

And in a minute, all the canines that dared enter his layer lay in a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, their bodies turned into piles of meat, not even resembling the creature they were.

Sol looked pleased, but then annoyed.

The damn thing that called itself system had even made lights go up slightly for the wolves to see, but the next instance, the light were off again.

Sol cursed but couldn't find words as he may have forgotten them, or may be he didn't even knew any, anyways, he had forgotten who he was.

Sol then walked up to the corpses and piled them up as the chime rang again:

"Ding!

Host has passed the test of ability, now the host has gained access to his first world.

After 500 years of confinement.

{Some basic information being loaded}.

To the host, your status panel is as follows:

[Name: Sol

Race: Abyssal Insectoid

Evolutionary path: Meta-Biological path to return to the ancestry through devour and divide.

Ability: Devour and Divide.

Current layers: 0

Invading worlds: 1(progress 0%)]

Would the host like to go to the new world?

Yes or No."

---

Sol said, "Hmm... Tsk Tsk, I have been confined for 500 years?! Impressive of me to survive that long."

Then Sol no longer focussed on the system after hearing the status panel, he was more interested in the corpses of the canines.

Sol licked the saliva of that was flowing out of his mouth and realised the feeling after a long time, he thought, 'Hunger! Finally, I can feel this emotion again.'

With this thought in mind, he rushed to the mass of flesh.

He gulped down all the meat in mere dozen seconds, he couldn't even himself realise that where the amount of canines he had eaten, go?

---

Sol came back from the sense of exhilaration he had just felt.

Just at this moment, a churning feeling came from his entire body.

And it seemed his body turned into liquid for moment, then it split into two, then two more.

Sol looked at the four who were himself from 4 different perspectives.

It was quite strange for him to look at himself or now 'himselves' from 4 different 'himselves'.

But he felt an urge in his blood that made this feeling normal again.

Sol finally looked at the system and asked, "Tell me, Is this what you mean by division?"

The system remained silent, as if encouraging him to explore on his own.

Sol was very annoyed with the system in front of him, but nonetheless, he didn't argue this time and clicked 'yes' again.

---

Boom!

With the sound of an explosion, space cracked and emerged the figure of Sol on a lush forest.

Sol finally used his normal vision to look at himself, he saw the figure he imagined.

Just as he had thought but even more smooth and aesthetic, his claws gleamed in the light, his teeth shined as if lights, and his exoskeleton shone like diamond.

As for his face, it was as he had imagined, aesthetically alien, smooth like metal, narrow predatory eyes and grin that encompassed all heavens.

Then the four Sol looked together, around they looked only to find a black, egg like sphere only their palm's size floating in the air.

Before they could rush towards it, it vanished and suddenly drilled into the consciousness of the four.

Sol asked, "System?"

And a panel appeared before him:

"Ding! World panel unlocked! Current world panel:-
