I'm in desperate need of a vacation. I thought to myself. I was sitting in the designated meeting room that I made up because I really do not like the throne room at all. The throne room itself rarely gets used and I could count on one hand how many times I've ever stepped foot in there after becoming the monarch of this nation.
Meetings bore me… I'm too ADHD for this kind of stuff. I spun a quill in my hand and I could feel the presence of Avalorne draw close. The ancient wolf was present within my body.
'Still this topic?' He spoke in my mind.
Obviously… it's getting worse. I had to send Seth out on patrol because of it. I spoke to him.
'I bet my fur on Lumoria.'
High possibility, Avalorne. Lumoria has been very quiet lately, their ongoing silence has made all of us suspicious.
'I say we raid them.'
If we did, we would lose. Two Sovereigns versus one?
'We have the kid and Seth.'
Seth is just an unnaturally strong Halosis and Auri is untrained.
The wolf let out a long sigh and I felt his presence vanish.
I sighed in return and the table members turned and looked at me. I smiled quickly and they returned back to the topic at hand. I really miss Seth.
"Your Highness, we really need Solaria's aid. Our Mira can't do anything more for our barriers." David spoke, "Just two Mira from Solaria would help."
"I'm trying. Really, I am." I replied, "But our last visit has dampened any plausible negotiations we could have had."
They began to murmur.
I quickly registered Seth teleporting in behind my left shoulder. I began to relax. Just him being in the same room as me helps me a lot and he smelt nice too. Fresh air with a hint of Unda. Unda? I frowned. He must have used his gifts. My fingers itched to touch him. He's like my coping mechanism. I hate to say it, but I have really bad separation anxiety from him.
Seth shifted and he drew closer. My hand flew out and I grabbed his wrist. The people at the table turned their heads in our direction and I quickly let go of him. I scratched my face with my finger and chuckled uncomfortably.
"Your, Highness?" David spoke softly.
"Uh… resume!" I waved my hand and smiled gently, they looked back at David and I sunk a bit in my chair.
Seth grumbled quietly enough that only I could have heard him.
"If we can't get Solaria's help, why don't we try Novaria?" Heather offered.
The others nodded.
Novaria is the second nation with the best Mira technology. Valoria, my nation, is well known for the best Halosis army. Novaria runs second in terms of Halosis power. Though if we are logistically speaking in terms of raw power, Lumoria ranks the highest due to their two High Lords. Novaria is also very hard to contact due to their nation being enveloped in a spell stemming from the High Warlock's Authority, Time. Our time here is vastly different there. Two days there would be like two years here.
Seth stiffens and his sword appears as I hear yelling. Seth moved into position. The people at the table stood up.
I heard a guard yell, "Stop! You aren't allowed in there!"
I heard an explosion.
The noises drew near. Three seconds until they arrive. Three. BOOM! Two… yelling, one… NOW!
Seth lunged forward just as the door flew open. My guard tackled the person and they fell to the floor.
"W-wait!" They screamed, "Get off! I'm not him!"
Seth hisses, "Oh yeah? Your looks match."
I walked over and saw the High Priest under Seth, who had his sword at his throat. The High Priest glanced at me and his face lit up.
"You! Yes! Maetel was talking non stop about you!" Lucas babbles, "Oh my gods! Please, you have to help me!"
Seth snarls, "help? You? You tried to kill us!"
Lucas sweats, "I'm not Kinnarus!" He yells. He looks at me, "You know! You've met me before! Well not me exactly, but him, Maetel!"
I nodded, "How can you prove yourself?"
Lucas gulps, "I really can't but I know your guard here has seen him."
Seth stiffens, "How do you know I've seen someone."
Lucas smiles weakly, "He's told me. Please, you have to believe me."
Seth got off of him and his hand went into his pocket, "He told me to give this to 'his messenger'." He opened his hand and a white and gold feather was in the palm of his hand.
Lucas stood up and he tipped his head and blinked, "Oh! Yeah! That's one of Maetel's feathers!" He picked it up out of Seth's hand and he froze. Energy expelled from it and his eyes glowed, 'Does this quell your suspicions?' Lucas' voice has changed back into the one I heard in the grove. 'This poor boy said he would risk himself to talk to you, Authority of Creation.' Lucas paused, 'Ah… how I wish I could talk to Avalorne… my body resides at the first waters of this world, this boy knows how to get there, so please be nice to him. This will be the last time I'm able to talk to you all like this as this requires a lot of energy. The closer you get to me, I may be able to talk to you all again.'
Lucas crumples and I looked at Seth, "I guess… we are all heading back to Solaria sooner than expected."
