Looking out over this balcony brings lots of memories, both good and bad. My parents were murdered in this very room. My butler, Quinton, also gave his life here to save me that night. I lost not only my parents, but also my friend. A night where my life changed for the better and for the worst.
"Quintion! Get Kliene out of here!" My father, Michael Lee Vincent, yelled. His sword is the very same sword I wield now.
Two figures obscured by black smoke advanced him. His black hair glistened in the moonlight. The figures were the reigning clan leaders of Lumoria.
"Hand over the kid, Michael." One spoke.
Me? Why are they after me?
Quintion pushed me behind him and we were cornered on the balcony. The only option now was down.
My father growled, "You've already killed my wife, you wish to kill me, and now you want my son? I won't allow it."
"You're in no position to fight us." The other one spoke.
"Elizebeth has already foresaw your son's future, I won't allow him to live." The other one spoke.
"Then this marks a new era for humanity, if your oracle has foresaw something that you wish to rewrite, then this means your nation will soon fall, just like Avalorne has told us." My father's aura flares to life, "If Kliene is that hope, I will never let you touch him." Glacial spikes shot at the two clan leaders. Their bodies disappeared and then reappeared above my father.
There is no way he'll win, they control two authorities. Quinton turned and he touched my face, his red eyes were glowing and the same color rose from his body.
"Contiue to live Kliene, remember our sacrifices this night aren't in vain." Quinton spoke gently.
The two clan leaders stepped away from my father's dead body and they began to advance us.
"Hiding in that form, butler? It won't help you." The left one spoke.
Form? I stared at Quinton.
Quinton wrapped his arms around me and smiled, "It'll make due for the time being." He spoke steadily. "Close your eyes Kliene, it won't take long."
Seth… Where is Seth? I wish I could have said goodbye to him and that I… I closed my eyes and tears streaked down my face. I felt heat radiating from Quinton. Wait, what is he doing?! I tried grabbing Quinton but he held me tighter. If he proceeds with this, he'll-
"I'll see you again, I promise Kliene." Quinton murmured. I saw white behind my closed eyelids and I felt an enormous amount of energy expelled from his body. I opened my eyes and I saw scorch marks extended from where Quinton once stood. White feathers fluttered down from the air. I stood there in shock as the two clan leaders were now, just dust.
I fell to my knees and covered my face, one of the doors to my parent's room opened and I looked up. Seth was breathing heavily, his eyes widened in terror. He stared at me and I knew he understood what just happened. Seth's sword fell to the ground with a clang and he ran over to me. His hands touched my face one and then he embraced me in a hug.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He spoke softly, "I was too late."
