Chapter 1 - An Underwhelming meeting

Timmo hated traveling with passion. It reminded him his own childhood, where he had to drive his dad's tractor every day from the village to the barn. But at his 20th birthday, he left the village to start a solitary life in the woods. He built a nice wooden cabin in an open field inside the forest. Near his cabin there was a small plot of land where he grew all kinds of plants. Eggplants, potatoes, tomatoes and grain. Surely a vegetarian's paradise. In his 3rd year of living by himself in the woods, he wanted to learn more about farming, which he was always been his passion since he was a kid, but he couldn't put up with the other villagers.

In one of his rare visits to the town, that was located few miles away from his cabin, he learned that a corn contest was about to take place in Grand Canyon in one day. It was finally his chance to challenge himself and hopefully learn from the best. Corn contests in Grand Canyon attracted experienced farmers from all over the American countryside. Unfortunately for him, due to his hastiness to prepare baggage and to make sure the cabin will be safe while he would be away, he forgot to check the condition of his rust bucket called Fjord Siesta and drove off the next morning. He had to travel 500 miles to reach the spot where the contest would take place.

Diana on the other hand, had a completely different childhood. She grew up in the tough neighborhoods of Harlem and she had to learn to stand by herself against wannabe gangsters and terrible underground rappers who could seriously harm the ears of passerby. Diana, always persevered and kept punching her difficult life. After finishing high school, she left Harlem and moved out to New York using the savings she earned from her various part-time jobs she around the neighborhood. Life in New York was certainly been exciting and matched her outgoing energy. She started to dress more gothic yet she never was gloomy or even socially distant. For her, it was a style she preferred. Diana didn't have an hourglass figure, but she took pride of being a bit tough bone. It gave her an imposing aura. Nevertheless, to cover her expenses in New York, she found work in a local pizza place as a delivery driver. No one in her day job even thought scolding her for being 30 seconds late for a delivery order. The only time it did happen was in Hampton's, where an elderly woman in her 80s scolded her for being late, only for Diana to throw the pepperoni pizza straight on her face. Unfortunately she didn't receive a tip...

But alas, Diana was holding a secret from everyone. She was secretly a witch. Specifically a teleporter witch. She discovered her power in her late teens when she teleported in the janitor's room of her high school in the middle of the night. It was a shocking experience for her but from that day a whole new magical perspective opened to her eyes.

Even though she didn't have much free time between being a sassy delivery pizza driver and a witch battling demons at night, she occasionally rode her motorcycle to the Grand canyon. Of course, she could just teleport there, but for her, the thrill of driving was worth more than a simple poof of magic. It's the cathartic feeling it was giving, allowing her the time to reflect.

In one of those days, she stopped for refuel in a rather sketchy fuel station literally in the middle of nowhere. Timmo's car had broken down just few miles away from the gas station and he had to push it by himself all the way there. Once he arrived there, he was sweating profusely, his t-shirt was stuck to his body and he couldn't even feel his sore palms from all the pushing. But he knew he couldn't waste time if he wanted to arrive at the contest. He opened the hood and white smoke hit his face.

"Oh crakey... she blew the head gasket... why ? Why ? WHY !? Why me for goodness sake !?" Timmo's face turned red by anger and by mistake he knocked the rod that was holding the hood up. The hood closed on his palm which was resting on the radiator cap. His eyes opened widely and he was jumping like Dora the Explorer cursing boots for not having the map.

The gas station had a little shop few feet away from the pumps. Diana was holding the clerk from his shirt. Timmo took a moment away from his pain when he heard the shouting and peaked inside to see what was going on.

"Thirty bucks for one quart of oil !? Are'ya looking for trouble unc ? Ain't no way you are scamming me. I am gonna beat your a-" Diana screamed, her voice loud and clear. Timmo peaked from outside and saw Diana holding the clerk from his shirt. He was swinging his feet erratically while he was floating a bit.

Diana turned her head and noticed Timmo just as he was about to turn away.

"Hey sugar ! What's sup ? Get it ? Because Supper is my last name... Ah forget it. Fancy a free oil change ? His treat." Diana said with a throaty laugh as she turned back to the clerk she was holding.
