Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Surrounded!

Chapter 11: Surrounded!

To eliminate the Terminator T-800 as quickly as possible, Marcus made numerous arrangements.

These included collaborating with the LAPD to intercept the T-800, aiming to eliminate it immediately and nip any potential problems in the bud.

However, an unexpected turn of events occurred!

The Terminator T-800's capabilities exceeded Marcus's expectations.

Despite appearing somewhat vulnerable in The Terminator, the T-800 was now proving surprisingly formidable, with small arms fire completely ineffective against it.

Marcus picked up the FBI walkie-talkie and inquired, "All personnel, report your locations."

All the agents involved in the operation responded; the nearest team had already arrived on Observatory Drive, while the furthest team would take approximately ten minutes.

"Boss!" Jackson, shotgun in hand, approached Marcus. He looked towards the Terminator T-800 and asked, "Is that the target?"

Rodriguez stared intently at the Terminator T-800. "Is it bulletproof?"

Jackson was a bit overconfident. "A robot made entirely of metal, what's there to be afraid of?"

"Stop talking nonsense, use the shotgun on it, aim for the optical sensors and knee joints!" Marcus ordered.

"Okay!" Jackson immediately got to work.

Rodriguez followed, shotgun in hand.

The Terminator T-800's pistol was empty; it was now passively taking hits thanks to its tough construction. However, its armor was too strong, and Marcus's team couldn't neutralize it for the time being.

"Damn, what kind of thing is this?!" Jackson finished a magazine of shotgun shells, but to no avail, and he cursed wildly.

The Terminator T-800 had retreated behind a van, its internal systems rapidly assessing the situation.

...

"Surrounded by law enforcement, lacking necessary weapons…"

"Attempting to break out…"

"Attempting to acquire weapons and neutralize attackers…"

"Loading map data, analyzing escape routes…"

"Analyzing breakout plans…"

The Terminator T-800 ultimately chose to break out, or rather, had no other choice.

Although the Terminator T-800 was currently the most advanced Terminator model, it was still somewhat limited, lacking an integrated weapon system and only possessing close-combat capabilities.

Now, the Terminator T-800 was being suppressed and attacked; it had no other option but to try to break out.

If it stubbornly refused to retreat, Marcus had plenty of ways to deal with it!

"Watch out, it's preparing to break out and escape!" Marcus shouted alertly as he watched the Terminator T-800's movements.

LAPD officers and FBI Los Angeles personnel tried to stop it, but ordinary service weapons, police shotguns, or even standard weapons issued by the FBI were all ineffective!

The Terminator T-800's attempt to break out was not stopped!

Marcus grew anxious. The Terminator T-800 had just arrived, and now was the perfect opportunity to eliminate it. If the Terminator T-800 escaped, even though it was exposed now and the authorities would definitely take it seriously, as long as the Terminator T-800 wasn't captured, Marcus would worry.

There's an old saying: "You can't guard against all threats forever."

Once the Terminator T-800 escaped, Marcus would have to spend even more energy dealing with it.

"Jackson, ram it!" Marcus ordered.

Jackson, his face showing reluctance, protested, "Boss!"

"Hurry up!" Marcus commanded.

Jackson gritted his teeth, turned, got into a pickup truck, and then, with a determined expression, drove towards the Terminator T-800.

"Come on, let's go!" Jackson roared.

The pickup truck hurtled towards the Terminator T-800.

According to Jackson's thinking, that seemingly formidable robot would probably tear the pickup truck apart, and he himself would likely be in grave danger.

But who knew the Terminator T-800 would go down so easily?

The pickup truck successfully rammed the Terminator T-800!

"What the hell?" Jackson exclaimed in surprise.

Marcus yelled again, "Quick, quick, find some heavy-duty nylon rope to restrain it!"

Analyzing the situation at the scene, the Terminator T-800's weaknesses were obvious, and Marcus speculated that using heavy-duty nylon rope might actually be able to restrain it.

The Terminator T-800 clearly heard Marcus's yell. After struggling, it didn't try to acquire a weapon again but chose to flee.

Because the Terminator T-800 was extremely resistant to police firearms, when it gave up the struggle and chose to escape, the LAPD officers couldn't stop it at all.

In fact, even the FBI's Los Angeles field agents couldn't stop it!

Under normal circumstances, neither LAPD officers nor FBI agents in Los Angeles were carrying heavy weapons. How could they possibly match the Terminator T-800?

"Jackson, go after it!" Marcus opened the passenger door of the pickup truck Jackson was driving and ordered him to give chase.

Jackson had just rammed the Terminator T-800 once, and he was brimming with confidence. After Marcus's order, Jackson accelerated without hesitation.

However, the Terminator T-800 was very tactical; it chose sidewalks and alleyways, preventing Jackson from directly ramming it.

Marcus, holding a walkie-talkie, continuously reported the Terminator T-800's location information, while simultaneously ordering the FBI agents in Los Angeles and LAPD officers to pursue and intercept it.

The unfortunate Terminator T-800 was unlucky; it was supposed to make a covert entrance, but who knew it would face such a difficult challenge right from the start?

"Boss, we've got a problem!" Rodriguez reported. "The target got onto the Los Angeles River bridge. Damn, the target jumped off the bridge."

Marcus was stunned. Terminator T-800 jumped off the bridge?

"Boss, should we continue the pursuit?" Rodriguez asked.

Marcus gritted his teeth. "Notify the LAPD's dive team to patrol the Los Angeles River. Also, notify the field office and the LAPD to seal off the riverbank for the next six miles downstream. The target is waterproof; even in the river, there shouldn't be any problems. We must capture the target!"

"Roger!" Rodriguez responded.

Marcus adjusted the walkie-talkie channel and called Williams. "Williams, we've encountered a small setback here. The target has escaped and we're in pursuit. Stay on high alert!"

"Roger, Boss," Williams responded.

On the Los Angeles River bridge, Marcus gazed at the dark surface of the water. Even though the LAPD had deployed several searchlights to search for the Terminator T-800, the Terminator T-800 wasn't human and didn't need to surface to breathe; it could easily sink to the bottom and relocate.

And indeed, that was the case!

After its tissue covering was destroyed, the Terminator T-800 sank into the Los Angeles River. Its internal systems quickly analyzed the situation and chose to escape via the river.

Nearly two hours later, the LAPD and FBI Los Angeles field office's search operation along the Los Angeles River yielded nothing, and Marcus had no choice but to announce the termination of the operation.

But this was just the beginning!

The threat posed by the Terminator T-800 had been confirmed, and Marcus guessed that he should be able to gain more support.
