Will and the party continue their journey through south to the dune.Will still learning how to work as a team, failed many times by instinct. Yesterday, Will instinctively kill a horde of flying beast with his fire arrow.He hadn't use shadow magic since that goblin horde battle. Al still hasn't discovered that Will is able to use black magic, or he is the shadow sage.
"It's been real quiet from the SUN cult, they haven't been making a move since we last encounter and kill a member of it,"
Raye mention as they walk.
"Well I hope we DON'T encounter them, fighting is such a hassle,"
Al groan as he swing his mini staff out of boredom.Will didn't say anything, he didn't respond and just collecting shadows of living things or non that he passed by.Shadow he collected or steal give him access to more shadow when he fight.He also can owned shadow he sees and teleport there through the shadow realm he created.
They decided to stop at another nearby town for a break.As they reached, there was a crowd of people gathered at the center of the guild.Out of curiosity, Raye walk toward it and see the commotion.
"Attention to all hero party, there have been news that a beast is nearby the town and it is to be said that a SUN cult member is around that area.Though is not just any SUN cult member, but rumored to be one of the 7 warlocks calamity."
The accountant woman working at the guild told everyone at the guild.Everyone was panicking."7 warlocks of calamity?How threatening,"Will thought to himself.
Raye:"A beast and one of the 7 warlocks of calamity, this is a dangerous quest, I don't if we should accept this one,"
Will:"We will,"
Everyone in the guild was in shock.
Al:"Are you out of your mind? 7 warlocks of calamity are no joke, they are know as the general of the SUN cult, I were told to be aware of these people as an adventurer."
Will:"We are accepting this quest, tell us the details about it"
Will ignores Al comment and went to talk to the accountant.Everyone looking at Will with different gazes.Some were horrified, some were respect, some thinks he is a psycho.
"W-well, the beast only appear at night, we need you to hunt it down.We will ask members of the guild to retrieve it after you done killing it."
Will:" Very well, come on, lets get prepared"
Will drag Raye and Al out of the guild and went to an inn in the town.
"Alright Will, you may been off the air for a few thousand years, fighting a warlock is NOT an easy task" Raye whispered to Will as they walk.
"I think this is a great chance to gain more experience, besides, its only rumored that the warlord is around that area, even is he is, I'm here"
"What do you mean "I'm here" ?"
Raye and Al tries to protest but failed. Raye is surprised that Will would want to gain experience since he is a dark sage, or is he learning how to work as a party and 'gaining experience' by team working?
At dawn, the party started getting ready, Will heard whisper in the crowd mentioning about him not having a staff, thinking him as a high class mage or an idiot knocking at death door.
Raye:"Alright gang, I will be at the front and Will, you will support me at the back, as for Al, you need to heal us if we got injured,"
Al:"I haven't been in a fight since ages"
Will:"..."
Night came, the party made their move.They lurk behind the trees, finally spotting the beast that the accountant mentioned.There were no sign of any warlock around the area. Raye suggested that the crowd should leave since it would be dangerous and also, Will could use black magic but at a price of Al to learn about it.
"The beast seems to be wandering around, looking for something"
"I don't supposed it would be sleeping right now after all it only appeared at night"
"Alright lets go,"
Will shot a fireball at its tail, distracting it so Raye could make the first strike.The beast screech and swing around, hitting Raye and sending him back. Raye defended with his sword and command Will to spam fireball on it.Will listen and did so.Al hide behind a tree.He have no battling experience, nor fight a goblin before.This is his first time fighting as a team, he is learning to work as a party. Will decide to summon a huge fireball that could easily burn a whole forest in a single strike and shot it at the beast. The beast screech at it, spreading the fire which shot around the area. Few trees caught on fire and Al panicked not knowing what to do as he avoid it. Raye block it with his sword and dash to the beast.The beast has no arms or legs, only a big body, a giant mouth and a tail, making it hard for Raye to know where to strike. Raye strike the tail of the beast, making it screech.That screech hurt their ear to the point that even the town people is able to hear it.
"Do you think they would be alright?"
"I don't know? I hope they win that fight, all of us are counting on them"
"So this is a sound based attack type of beast..."
Raye covered his ear as he said that.During his duty as a knight, he has never fought with a mage ever, only with knight, working with Will is his first time fighting with a mage.
"THIS BEAST IS SOUND BASED ATTACKER,TRY ATTACKING HIS VOCAL CORD WITH YOUR SHADOW MAGIC!"
Al:"Shadow magic?"
Will then summon shadow from the ground, striking the beast from the bottom.The beast screech and jump above. It flew up so high, not what you expected from a big, fat beast.
The beast then slam the ground so hard that it sent Al and Raye behind. It then used it tail to grab one of a tree that got caught on fire and threw it toward Al. Raye then dash toward Al and slash the tree but fall down and hurt his knee.Will then summon a huge amount shadow arrows and shower it on the beast.The beast retaliate with a screech sending the arrows off course.The shadow arrows then vanish. Al healed Raye while Will fight off the beast.Will then have shadow like tentacle that came from two holes made of shadow summon by Will.It continuously strike the beast but the beast somehow retaliate by kept bouncing up and down on the ground, using the vibration to avoid the shadow from reaching it.
Raye:"This beast is sure smart..., Al, can you revive someone from the dead?"
Al:"That's black magic! We are not allowed to learn something like that,"
Raye:"I thought so,... You think you can try healing someone badly injured that almost looked like they're dead?"
Al:"I guess I could try, wait, are you trying to kill yourself!?"
Raye:"WILL, IM GONNA JUMP INSIDE THE BEAST TO STRIKE HIS VOCAL CORD, YOU THINK YOU CAN HOLD HIM BACK?"
Will:"SURE"
Raye:"Al, might go deaf after this, I hope you can heal me after this,"
Al:"Wait, I will cast a spell that help protect your ear from sounded based attack"
Raye:"Thanks, ALRIGHT IM GOING!"
Al:"Protection spell!"
Will manipulate the shadow of the beast, using it to pin it, stopping it from moving.The beast try to move but can't, notice Will above and shot powerful screech toward Will.Will try to devour it with shadow hole he summon but got outnumbered by it.He then summon a huge hole and it devour every screech.
Raye:"YOU'RE DOING GREAT WILL!"
Will suddenly spat out blood which shock Raye.
Will:"DON'T STOP, KEEP GOING!"
Raye then jump into the beast's mouth as the beast finally noticed Raye and screech many times trying to send Raye back. Raye kept pushing forward.Ear bleeding.Blood came out of his eye.But those couldn't destroy his determination.Raye enter the beast mouth and slash its vocal cord.
Now that the beast vocal cord is destroy. Its only up to Will to do the final strike.Will then summon a huge, shadow liked sword and strike it above of the beast, finally ending it.
Raye came out of the beast mouth.Will descended as he spat out big pool of blood. A red mark shown on Will's arm.
Will:"Heal Raye, now!"
Al didn't hesitate and heal Raye. The town people rushed toward the commotion and noticed the beast is dead.
"Its gone now..."
"They did it..."
Everyone cheered for the victory of the unknown hero party that anomalously accepted this quest.Instead of celebrating, Al yelled at the town people instead,
"Can't you see SOMEONE is at the verge of death!? Go prepare a bed or something, NOW,THIS INSTANT!"
They quickly stop and listen to Al.Will then kneel right next to Raye and said:
"Well done"
