Treasure slowly rose on wobbly legs as Terrence laughed at her reaction to him scooping her up and sprinting back toward the village in the span of a few seconds.
To say she was scared would have been a gross understatement.
"Never and I mean never..do that again."
"Next time I'll warn you Princess." He teased with a smile.
Treasure rubbed her temples for a second. "Won't be a next time. Trust me."
He laughed harder and guided her through the familiar, medium-sized broken village gates. The moment they passed the threshold he heard his name and felt a solid thump against his lower body.
"Terrence! We thought we lost you.." Kasper whispered, burying her face into his chest as if confirming he was warm, real, and alive.
"Yeah!" Kya added, lightly punching him in the gut with a trembling fist. "Don't leave like that again without giving us a forewarning, please.."
Terrence chuckled softly. "Will do."
Another thump hit him, this one from his favorite little elf.
