"Leave me and my sister alone, you freaks!"
Kasper Rain's voice cracked with desperation as she swung wildly at the four repulsive hunters closing in. Her hands trembled, but her bright orange eyes burned with raw defiance.
She and her sister, Kya Rain, had left their small village at dawn in search of food. Supplies were running dangerously low. They thought they'd be back before sunset.
Fate, of course, had other plans.
They'd stumbled upon fake hunters — robbers dressed in monster hides who preyed on the weak and voiceless. And today, that meant them.
One of the bastards had Kya pinned against a jagged rock, his filthy hand clamped over her mouth. The other three cornered Kasper, rotten grins splitting their faces.
"Don't worry, boys," the one holding Kya chuckled darkly. "I know exactly how to make her stop struggling."
He reached down and started yanking up Kya's torn, blood-stained shirt. Her muffled scream tore through the forest.
