Asher was exhausted.
Three days of living in Kael's penthouse. Three days of constant security. Three days of explaining to Kai and Lily why they couldn't go to their favorite park, why they had to have bodyguards, why people were still taking pictures.
Three days of being so close to Kael that his carefully constructed walls were crumbling faster than he could rebuild them.
He needed air. Space.
"I'm taking the twins to the indoor playground," Asher announced over breakfast.
Kael looked up from his tablet. "The one at the mall?"
"Yes. It's indoors, controlled access, security cameras everywhere. And the twins need to burn off energy before they destroy your living room."
"I'm not destroying anything!" Lily protested through a mouthful of pancake.
"You knocked over a vase yesterday," Kai pointed out.
"That was an accident!"
Kael smiled at their bickering, then looked at Asher. "I'll come with you."
"You have meetings all morning."
"I'll reschedule."
