Kaspers POV
The sound of her hiss was like a spark to a flame. I sat there, leaning back in my chair, watching the way her chest rose and fell with her sharp, agitated breaths. She looked absolutely stunning in that ivory silk gown, even if she looked like she wanted to wrap her fingers around my throat rather than the diamond I had just presented to her. Most women in the pack would have been falling over themselves at the sight of that stone, but Hannah looked at it like it was a piece of cursed glass.
"What's the matter, Hannah?" I asked, my voice smooth and intentional. I let my gaze linger on the way the light from the hotel's chandelier caught the red of her hair. "Is the diamond too small for you? Or are you just waiting for me to get on one knee and beg you to accept it?"
