Chapter 1 - The Danger Ahead

I can hear my ears vibrating, my limbs are weak...One more hit will end me. The smell of blood filled the air...My blood. I need to get up...to fight

My breathe was ragged, my vision was blurry, I couldn't feel some parts of my body.

We were in an old warehouse which was already half burnt down

"Ughh" It hurt everywhere

"Hunter! Hunter!!" I could hear Katara's voice call out to me. It's faint. I could see her struggling to reach me but was completely surrounded

I try to get up but to no avail... I sight a two headed creature heading my way with murderous intent. It's hands were quickly regenerating, it's snapped neck was returning to it's original position. I looked around everyone was fending off other creatures.

"Ughh...Get up Hunter!... Move!"

I yelled, commanding my body but I didn't move a finger.

The creature leaped into the air preparing to swing it's regenerated claws are me.

I clenched my teeth bracing for impact.

"Hunter!!!"

*Crackle*

Lightening flashed before my eyes. 'Zayn' I thought to myself. He caught the creature midair and slammed it to the ground.

"Hey... Are you okay?" I looked up and saw Jace and Tyra staring down at me. I nod in response

"Let's get you away from here" He said before hoisting me on his shoulder. Tyra following behind... protecting us from any attack.

Once outside he laid me on the soft grass before nodding to Tyra.

"I'll take it from here"

Jace looked at me once more before disappearing into the warehouse.

Tyra stood above me stretching her hands in my direction and closing her eyes.

She began murmuring some words which I couldn't make out, opening her eyes which had turn completely white, the tattoo on her neck...I could tell... Slightly increased in size.

A white fume suddenly enveloped me, saturating every part of me, mending, healing, soon enough all the pains were gone-like they were never there.

I could finally feel, breathe. I tried sitting up and moving a bit

"Thank you...Tyra."

She smiled on response.

" The others should be out soon, there were only few demons left. You did a great job in there, had you not stop the demons from getting their hands on the stones, this would have been a vain match"

That's true...I put my hands into my jacket and pulled out a box... An ancient box said to contain Elements. Master had asked us to retrieve it but the demons beat us to it and we ended up in this bloody fight.

" They're out, Hunter"

Tyra's words brought me back to reality.

Demons are creatures capable of regenerating with insane speed and they have superhuman abilities...They don't die easily except you reap out their heart and squash it within the second of removal or else they regenerate all over.

Everyone ran out of the building as they were chased by an incoming wave of demons rushing out of the warehouse

"Do it Hunter!" Zayn yelled

Everyone ran towards me, I raised my hands into the air gradually building pressure in the core of annihilation I had floating over my right palm and once I noticed everyone was behind me, I unleashed it with a full force

"Die... Bastards" It shot through the air, leaving trails of black light.

Upon impact, the blast tore away the earth leaving nothing to the imagination but before the after effects could reach us Cody had wrapped us away to our dimension.

Reappearing in our house, we all heaved a breath of relieve

"Nothing could have survived that"

Annabeth chuckled before collapsing on the couch and we all found spots on rest, catching our breaths

"Had Cody been a second later,we would've all been buried beneath the rubble"

We all laughed at how close we were to our deaths. Destruction maybe my ability...But using it can be really disturbing. It's a wide scale and range attack so i usually only use it when the time is right.

"I wonder where Master could be... In his study maybe?" Iris got up and began moving towards his study which was at the far end of the living room where we were in...

Suddenly the door clicked open and a late middle aged man stepped out.

His clothes were plain but carried an old dignity — a faded tunic beneath a rough cloak, boots worn from long journeys, and a belt that once held more than just a dagger.

"Master Xavier"

We all stood up at the sight of him and bowed our heads in respect. This man once bore the weight of humanity on his shoulder alongside everyone who had fought with him. A standing survivor of the tragedy that happened twenty years ago- when we lost the battle.

" You've returned."

He walked to his favorite chair and sat while we raised our heads to look at him. "Any trouble?"

I walked up to him, and handed over the box which we had retrieved from the warehouse "We retrieved the box,Master."

He slowly took it away from me.

"Ahh...This box contained the treasures that unified the Guardians of our past world. Once lost but now it's found. Had we lost this to the demons it would have been chaos."

He slowly opened the box and we moved closer to view it's contents- the Elements but all we saw were...

" Stones?" Zayn exclaimed in shock. He reaction was quite mutual.

" Take one, Zayn" Master Xavier chuckled as he stretched out the box. Zayn was skeptical,I mean what was he supposed to use a round stone with a hole at its top to do but he picked one anyway.

"Channel your aura into it" Zayn did exactly as Master Xavier commanded keeping the stone between his palms he channeled a significant amount of aura into it. After a brief moment he revealed the stone, it pulsed with a white-blue glow, threads of light crawling under its surface like captured storms.

We all gasped in shock..."Amazing" We all exclaimed and and marveled at the form the stone had taken

"How'd you get it to have that design?" Jace curiosity was quite obvious

"I have no idea. I just did as Master Xavier said... I guess it takes the design of our powers... Lightning, remember?"

"You all should go ahead and pick one...They are just enough." Master Xavier handed the box to me chuckling as he stood up to retire to his bedroom

We all bowed as he left. We each took one a stone and followed the necessary procedures

Jace's stone changed to a dark crystal filled with rolling crimson vapor, like living smoke searching for a way out.

Katara's stone burned with molten light, gold and scarlet veins crawling under its surface like living magma.

Iris' stone reflection blue depths swirled with flecks of frost, like a sea frozen mid-motion.

Tyra's stone showed even colored sparks circled within the white gem — crimson, azure, emerald, gold, violet, obsidian, and silver — the hearts of the seven dragons.

Cody's stone surface rippled like smoke in a mirror, the colors within bending and warping endlessly.

Annabeth's green crystal veined with gold light, pulsing slowly like the heartbeat of the earth.

"Amazing" Tyra's soft voice spoke for our thoughts

" So these reflects our powers and amplify them?' Cody sat on a near by couch " We could become stronger with these...Those demons won't stand a chance against us"

" Still we'll have to train our bodies and minds to keep up with the amplification or else it might just back fire on us'

Annabeth was right. I stared at the stone in my hand and realized that something was wrong with my element... According to the legend every element depicts the power of it's wielder as well as grants deeper depths of it. Elements always depicts two or more colors showing diversity in capabilities

But a completely black element spelt death.

"Hunter? We haven't seen yours." Jace words caused everyone to stare at me in anticipation

There was no hiding for me...I was sure of that... I had to tell them, they were my friends, my family...

I opened my hands and showed it to them... Deafening silence filled the room. They all stared with wide open eyes.

" The stone must be broken. It's been locked up for decades, what's the guarantee that it has lost its ability to read aura?.

Jace could have been right but we all knew that it's impossible for Elements to misread auras...They were pieces of the Onyx Stone.

"It can't be..." I heard Tyra mutter

The room had just fallen silent again. My hand lingered over the black stone.

Then… a whisper floated on the wind, faint at first, so soft I almost convinced myself I'd imagined it.

I turned sharply, eyes scanning the empty room, heart hammering. Shadows danced along the walls, flickering from the candlelight, but there was nothing there. Nothing… yet only I could feel it — a presence, unseen but undeniably there.

A shiver ran down my spine as the air around me thickened. The hairs on my arms stood on end. And then, impossibly close, I felt a breath against my ear — a voice that didn't belong to any of my friends.

"Finally… I've been waiting for you."

It was smooth. Cold. Deadly. Too close. My blood ran ice, and I knew in that instant — whatever this was, it had been watching, waiting, and now it had found me.

I spun, but the room was empty except for us.

"Hunter, are you alright?"

They must have noticed my strange action.

Every instinct in me screamed danger, yet there was nothing to see. Nothing… except the black stone in my hand warning me of the danger ahead.
