"What could she be doing this late at night? And she said not to tell Auntie."
Zachary Redgrave put down his cards. His face was already covered in white strips of paper, a clear sign he was losing badly.
"She said not to tell Auntie," Hannah Hale repeated, then smiled knowingly. "Dr. Shaw must be outside. I think the bride and groom aren't supposed to see each other the day before the wedding."
"Oh my god, it's the middle of the night and they're still showing off their love. How am I supposed to stomach that?"
Zachary Redgrave yanked all the paper strips off his face. "I've gotta go take a look. Those two are hopeless."
"Redgrave, don't go be a third wheel for my sister and brother-in-law. People in the honeymoon phase are all like that. They don't want to be apart for a second, like they wish they were joined at the hip."
