"No, you can't. Your mom has already been by to rush you several times. Get a move on."
Laura Lowell forced her eyes open. Her crystal-clear irises shimmered with a sleepy haze. After blinking a few times, she pushed herself up on the bed. "Do I have dark circles?"
"You only slept two or three hours. Of course you have dark circles. Go put on an eye mask after you wash up. It might not be too late to fix them."
Laura Lowell climbed out of bed, dejected. 'Why was I so nervous last night?' she thought. 'It's just a wedding.'
Watching her friend disappear into the bathroom, Hannah Hale leaned over and straightened the covers on the bed. "Peach and Jolene are here too. They're all in the living room. Also, your mom made you breakfast and said you should eat something as soon as you're up."
"What am I going to do? I'm getting nervous all over again. I can't eat a thing."
Laura Lowell stared at her reflection in the mirror, and her heart began to race without warning.
