Cecilia scoffed. "Raise her for you? What happens if you want her back later?"
"You must be back to visit your uncle and aunt, right?"
"We're not close. Well, ladies, I'll be on my way." After bidding them farewell, Cecilia led her in-laws onward, crossing over the mountain until they were near her grandmother's house. "Grandma, I'm back!" she called out.
Soon, her grandmother walked out of the courtyard, a pair of reading glasses perched on her nose.
She broke into a smile when she recognized Cecilia and her family.
She walked forward with a steady gait and offered a warm welcome. "Cecilia's in-laws came along too! Please, come in, quickly."
"Alright."
The little girl introduced herself. "Hello, Great-Grandma. My name is Claire Jocelyn."
The grandmother turned her head, her eyes dropping to finally notice the little girl. "Claire Jocelyn? Why are you calling me Great-Grandma? Whose child are you?"
