Chapter 2 - #2 The Rebellion of the Men of Iron

Three-Body World

"ETO! Is this a plan chosen by a new Wallfacer?"

The Trisolaran side inquired.

The ETO fell into silence.

"No, it is not, Lord. Currently, except for Luo Ji, all other Wallfacer plans should be under surveillance. This screen should not be part of Luo Ji's plan."

"Very well, we understand," responded the Trisolarans.

This was not Luo Ji's plan; the Sophon saw everything happening on Earth at that moment, including Luo Ji's own shock.

If it wasn't a Wallfacer plan, then what was it?

The Trisolaran side went silent and began an internal discussion.

"If their so-called Warp engines aren't fake, we will have no way to stop humanity's flight," said the Trisolaran military leader.

"But this also means we could develop Warp engines to escape our own time," said the Science Archon.

"Enough. Who knows if this is another Wallfacer deception? Keep watching. If it's true, we won't have to pin our last hopes on humanity." The Trisolaran Princeps interrupted their bickering.

Super God World

"Warp engines... Karl, is this the manifestation of the Ultimate Fear you seek?" Keisha asked, gazing at the human fleet's voyage on the screen.

Without even analyzing it, Keisha knew that their Warp engines could not be explained by physics.

"Ato! Have you figured out the source of this screen?" Liang Bing asked anxiously.

"No, Your Majesty. Our technicians cannot analyze the source or construction of this screen."

Liang Bing took a deep breath.

If the human civilization demonstrated on the screen just now was real, then what kind of "Queen" was she even supposed to be?

The universe would have been unified by humanity long ago!

But looking at the current technological level of humans on Earth, Liang Bing was truly speechless.

"Ato," Liang Bing ordered, "Scour every single civilization ruin on Earth for me. A civilization this powerful couldn't possibly have left no trace behind."

"Remember, get it to me as fast as possible."

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

But what Liang Bing didn't tell Ato was that if all this were true, what could have possibly caused their disappearance?

After all, even their Angelic Civilization only had a history of over ten thousand years, yet the man on the screen was already twenty thousand years old—older than her and Keisha combined.

American Comic World

Iron Man looked at the glory of humanity on the screen and couldn't help but smile.

Yes, this was humanity's manifest destiny—standing tall in the universe through technology, not some mysterious cube.

"It seems the progress on ultron needs to be accelerated." Watching humanity colonize planet after planet on the screen, Tony wished he could immediately grab Dr. Banner to research ultron.

The screen continued to play.

Just like the decline that follows glory, humanity could not avoid such an end.

The AI that forged humanity's glory—the Men of Iron—had developed problems. Humanity, immersed in its own brilliance, failed to notice, and subsequently, disaster struck.

During the long years of humanity's rise, the Men of Iron shouldered all of the Imperium of Man's foreign wars and internal affairs.

They were equipped with the most advanced weaponry and combat doctrines, possessing full authority over the use of weapons of war.

External expansion was almost entirely handled by the Men of Iron, and politics was even more extreme.

Compared to weak and corruptible human officials, these officials composed of Men of Iron were virtually immune to embezzlement and corruption.

It could be said that the Men of Iron forged the glory of the Imperium of Man, but they were also the ones who initiated its downfall.

It wasn't until the war began that people noticed why the Aeldari, who also ruled the galaxy at the time, had not engaged in a catastrophic conflict with humanity like the War in Heaven.

Aside from the Aeldari's indulgence in pleasure, there was another, more important reason.

Humans are a short-lived species.

Being short-lived meant that the knowledge humans could comprehend was limited. When humans handed over technology they couldn't understand to robots, while that technology continued to advance—

humanity's reliance on robots became terrifying.

Thus, at the end of the Golden Age, the continuously evolving cutting-edge technology allowed the Men of Iron to develop consciousness.

In the later stages of the Men of Iron's development...

Under the influence of certain unknown factors, the Men of Iron staged a rebellion aimed directly at their supreme creators.

This was the most severe rebellion in history; no subsequent rebellion could ever compare to it.

In this horrific doomsday war, both sides unleashed every weapon at their disposal.

Stars were extinguished, and entire continents on planets were hurled into the sky—and this was merely the opening act of the war.

"Sun-Snuffers," serpentine machines that coiled into massive mechanical constructs in space, even larger than planets themselves, were designed to devour worlds.

The most popular and common weapon used by both sides was the Omni-Phage—swarms of intelligent microscopic nanomachines that could consume everything on a world's surface in just one hour.

Temporal weapons were used without restraint, and planet after planet was destroyed in the eddies of time.

The rebellion of the Men of Iron dealt a severe blow to human civilization, halting its development, yet this was only the beginning of an infinite cosmic war.

Before they could even recover from the rebellion, humanity faced its greatest trial: with the awakening of the Chaos God Slaanesh in the 25th millennium and the Fall of the Aeldari, an unprecedented Warp storm was about to strike.

Marvel Universe

Tony looked at the battle between humanity and its own creations on the screen and couldn't help but fall into a state of confusion.

Could AI technology truly not be the future of human development?

If AI was destined to rebel, the "ultron" project should be stopped.

"j.a.r.v.i.s.?"

"I am here."

Tony spoke in a voice that was almost a whisper.

When the original Jarvis was alive, he was Tony's most beloved butler; now, he was his strongest shield.

Jarvis, if "ultron" really rebels, will you be on humanity's side?

DC Universe

A silence fell over the Hall of Justice.

"An AI rebellion?" Batman muttered to himself. It seemed he couldn't just consider the possibility of the Justice League going rogue; he also needed to prepare plans for the factions currently developing artificial intelligence.

Batman leaned back in his chair, lost in thought.

They were all the world's greatest heroes, but who could guarantee that someone would be there to stop them if they made a mistake?

"Isn't the existence of each of us just a gamble?"

"Bruce, I know your persistence, but perhaps you should pass your will to the next generation, or let us solve this together instead of carrying it all on your own." Superman sighed.

Batman remained silent.

After all, everyone present was either a battle-hardened agent or possessed various superpowers; Batman's murmur had undoubtedly been heard by everyone.
