Chapter 5 - #5 Thunder Warrior

As the birthplace of human civilization, the technological foundation of Terra was incredibly powerful.

Even for the Emperor, facing various factions on Terra blinded by ignorance, it still took a relatively massive effort to complete the Unification Wars.

In terms of character, the Emperor always possessed a strong desire to guide and protect all of humanity.

Even if his methods were a bit... radical.

Thus, to achieve the goal of unifying humanity's home Planet, the Emperor used the wisdom he had accumulated over tens of thousands of years to create a force of brave, genetically engineered soldiers.

These were the Thunder Warriors. The Thunder Warriors were the early genetically engineered units created by the Emperor, all of whom had undergone extensive physical enhancement.

As a transitional troop type during the Unification Wars, the Thunder Warriors were physically unstable, prone to bloodlust and unstable mental states.

Their lifespans were exceptionally short, and they constantly suffered from the threat of heart failure; they might die suddenly or cease executing orders in the heat of battle.

However, they were more savage, strong, and efficient—humanoid weapons born specifically for the Unification Wars. Under the Emperor's command, the Thunder Warriors quickly brought the war to an end.

By the 30th Millennium, the Emperor had swept away all remaining warlord factions on Earth and established a regime known as the Imperium.

At the same time, the Emperor overthrew all existing religious beliefs among humanity. Piles of scriptures were burned, and temple after temple was toppled, even if those religions had once been founded by him or worshipped him.

In this nascent Imperium, only one ideology would be promoted: the Imperial Truth.

The Imperial Truth required people to believe in science, maintain rationality, reject religious superstition, and uphold that humanity, being superior to all other intelligent races, would become the rulers of the The Galaxy / Milky Way.

After completing all this, the Emperor turned his gaze toward space.

In his plan, this nascent Imperium was not just Terra or the sector where Terra was located, but all human Worlds would be united under his rule.

And he would not accept any requests for independence.

As a total utilitarian, the Emperor firmly believed that any means could be used to achieve the end.

His vision was so long-term and unique that those around him could not understand his motives, ambitions, or his cold, impersonal nature.

Even those who had fought alongside him for thousands of years considered many of his actions to be quite inhumane.

Beyond that, there were even more morally questionable matters... the result was that under his rule, the probability of humans dying a violent Death far exceeded the sum of all dictators in history.

(Though those dictators were likely just the Emperor's alter egos.)

During the Unification Wars, he exterminated several human civilizations.

Particularly during the Reconquest of Terra, many of the Emperor's actions made the already scarred Terra even worse.

In places where resistance was most fierce, the Emperor's army's offensive was almost indistinguishable from a regional exterminatus order.

But that was not within the Emperor's considerations.

In the Emperor's view, he needed to establish an empire spanning the entire The Galaxy / Milky Way within two hundred years to ensure human survival.

There was no time to consider "nonsense" like democracy, freedom, or human rights.

After all, if your life is gone, what freedom is there to talk about?

The Emperor's actions actually revealed his refusal to recognize humanity as a single species.

Instead, he saw it as a group composed of individuals with infinite diversity, where the goals of the members were also infinitely personalized.

In his eyes, only he knew what was beneficial for humanity; disobedience meant betrayal.

With the fall of the Aeldari and the birth of a new Chaos God in the Warp, the Warp storms across the galaxy were dissipating.

This was the signal that the time was ripe.

Under the Emperor's planning, the holy Imperium was growing stronger by the day, and humanity's ancient home Planet would serve as the starting point for the subsequent systems.

New methods of Warp navigation and communication were being established; Legions composed of more stable genetically enhanced soldiers were taking shape; and those xenos who had kicked them while they were down or taken advantage of the chaos would all be purged.

Human colonies that had been isolated for thousands of years would be reclaimed. Humanity would once again gather under the same banner and the same regime. In the name of the Emperor, the Great Crusade was about to begin.

Marvel Universe

Thanos stood on his ship, staring at the Emperor on the screen, a flash of complex emotion in his eyes.

He felt an indescribable sense of gratification, as if he had found an existence in this Universe whose philosophy was contrary to his own yet coincided with it.

"So, can you save your race? Emperor of Mankind?" His voice was low, carrying a hint of expectation.

On Earth, inside the Avengers headquarters, the atmosphere was tense.

"Dammit, Thor, you were right. This guy is no good."

Tony Stark's voice betrayed anger and disappointment. Watching the Thunder Warriors' brutal performance on the battlefield, he felt a deep sense of unease.

"This is practically gambling with the people of an entire Planet! How is his behavior any different from human extinction?"

Captain America, Steve Rogers, gripped his shield tightly, watching with fury as the Emperor executed everyone who opposed him.

"This is an atrocity!" The fires of justice burned in his eyes; he found this ruthless style of rule intolerable.

Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., had a face full of gravity. "While his intentions might be good, I find it very hard to agree with his methods."

His voice was calm and firm as he defined the Emperor's actions.

"This is no different from what our enemies did during World War II."

Dr. Banner, standing in the corner, looked at the Emperor's cold performance and couldn't help but think of his father-in-law, General Ross's similar ruthlessness.

His voice was low and filled with worry. "If democratic and free behavior is not permitted, humanity will be no different from Beasts."

Tony rubbed his eyes, his face weary.

He had thought the Emperor's appearance might bring humanity hope in facing the Warp.

But his methods seemed only to be dragging humanity into another abyss.

Just as the Avengers were criticizing the Emperor's actions, Thor's words interrupted them.

"By the way, are you really going to go to war with this guy?" There was a hint of doubt in his voice.

Tony raised an eyebrow. "What, you don't approve?"

"No, I'm just stating a fact. Although I don't exactly agree with what this guy is doing, his plan is indeed the most likely method to save you from ruin."

"But what about the innocents who died miserably on the battlefield?" Steve argued.

"He doesn't care."

"Or rather, for a god of His race, what He loves has never been the individual, but the species."

"More importantly, the concept of time is different. To Him, a hundred years is but a moment, while to you, it spans one or two generations."

Thor explained a cruel reality from a god's perspective: the viewpoints of gods and men will never be the same.

God Emperor Doom looked through his mask at the massive golden figure in the sky.

"Is this a truly existing person?"

"'Emperor of Mankind'?"

When the introduction of the Emperor first began, Doom had instinctively wanted to deny the Emperor's power.

But when that figure matching the description and his actions in the Unification Wars actually appeared on the screen...

All doubts crumbled.

As a sovereign of a nation, a rebel and leader who personally led his people to overthrow local rule.

Alone, leading an entire country to face the most powerful nations in the World, surviving with incredible tenacity.

No one knew the flaws and cruelty of autocracy better than Doom, but for those nations in peril, nothing could provide more hope than the autocracy of such a powerful leader.

Democracy and freedom could also pull a nation back from the brink of a cliff, but no one knew better than he how slim those chances were.

Doom's heart was filled with complex emotions; he knew that in this World, sometimes strength and power are necessary, even if their price is heavy.
