Chapter 8: Immortal Blood and Shadow Guard
A dense fog enveloped the silent forest. The shadows of the tall trees were like the fingers of the devil that wanted to hunt down Volt and his band. Suddenly, there was a sound like the sky tearing. A tall warrior in black armor and a poisoned sword appeared from the trees.
"Lucifer's emissary…" Aki said in a panicked whisper, taking a step back.
Without answering, the warrior attacked like lightning. His target was Volt directly. Before Sai could move, the black sword went deep into Volt's chest and out of his back.
"Voltttt!" Aki screamed, her eyes filling with tears. Sai paused for a moment, thinking it was all over.
But Volt didn't fall. He looked up slowly, his stupid grin gone on his lips. He gripped the blade and pulled the sword out of his chest, ignoring the fact that his hands were cutting. The wound was smoking black instead of red blood, and it was healed in an instant; as if he had never been injured.
Volt: "This hurt a little... but I'm not going to die with these things."
Sakuna's Blood Covenant
Shocked, the black warrior wanted to attack again, but Sai heard a voice inside himself.
Sakuna: "Sai! Look at that idiot, he won't die but you will if you just look at him. You want my power? I can turn your body into steel, but the price will be heavy."
Sai: "Give me whatever it is! I don't want you here to be fodder for Lucifer's messengers!"
At that moment, a dark red mark glowed on Sai's neck. A black and gold beam burst from Sai's body. His eyes turned a bright red and flew towards the black warrior like a sharp beam. With a single swipe of his hand, Sai shattered the warrior's steel armor. His power was so great that the ground shook under their feet.
🌑 End of war and doubts
When the Black Warrior saw Volt's immortality and Sai's destructive power, he realized that this was not an ambush for them, but for himself. He disappeared in a black haze and ran.
Sai fell to his knees, his breath hitched and blood dripping from his mouth. Sakuna's strength had exhausted her human body. Volt ran over to him and put his hand on his shoulder.
Volt: "Sai! You were so powerful! But why did your eyes glow like those fiends? Do you have a secret spell, too?"
Sai couldn't answer, he just looked at Aki who was looking at them both from a distance with deep suspicion. "One is immortal, the other contains the power of the outcast gods... This academy cannot stand this secret," Aki thought to herself.
On his throne of darkness, Lucifer felt the vibration and grinned, "So you are together... my king and the treacherous guard. The game has now begun.
