FINN MERTENS
I looked over at the Flame Prince, letting my annoyance and confusion seep into my expression.
"What??", I inquired.
He looked back at me like I had insulted him then he eyed me up and down and said, "You heard me, we should give the man the little special human".
He got up from his, his fiery arm brushing against mine seemingly intentionally then he looked back at me one more time before turning to meet the others.
"We have suffered from months upon end, fighting new monsters day and night, battling Yaegers goons and all for this guy who we found a few days ago??".
"That's nonsense!". "If Yaeger wants this guy so much then let him have him. Who knows, maybe we can form some sort of middle ground?? We could negotiate!".
"Come on don't you agree?!", he asked while turning to Huntress Wizard-AKA, my old situationship.
After she shit him a glare, he turned to look at the Alternate Finn whose gaze didn't meet his then he looked over at his counterpart Flame Princess who only glared at him.
Then he looked over to who would debatably be the worst person to turn to, my own flesh and blood, my mother.
"Come on Miss Minerva, you should see through this nonsense", his voice sounding more desperate now.
At this point in time my blood began to boil a bit, although I kept a straight face that was not the same for Jake, Huntress Wizard and more importantly mom.
She looked down at her clipboard with an aura of annoyance, i don't know if the young Flame Prince hadn't clocked the family ties or if no one told him but he was definetly digging his grave.
"Flame Prince", my mom replied cold and stoic. "Go back to your seat".
"Huh?!", he yelped before going over to her almost towering over her in what seemed a lowsy attempt to pressure her.
My hand balled into a fist as anger continued to flood me, there was a thick atmosphere around the room now as everyone seemed to wait for a reaction.
Sadly for him, my mother wasn't fazed. She looked up at him then said, "I said go back to your seat".
The flame prince eventually scoffed before walking back to his seat, shooting me a glare as he past then sitting back like a proud royal.
What an insufferable guy and I've dealt with the Ice King.
My mom cleared her throat breaking the now loud silence before continuing her talk.
"I'm glad to have Finn and Jake, they'll be really helpful in what's to come".
"I'll be sure to find one more person and get you a squad so you can go for missions, I know for a fact you wouldn't want to be staying inside but try and recover first, okay??".
Me and Jake nodded then she looked around the room and took a deep breath, "Men, Women, Princes, Princesses, I haven't called this meeting just to speak about the recoveries".
"Instead I'm here to say two things, first, we have to further our investigations for survivors".
"We are stronger in numbers and if we can find more survivors, our strength can increase vastly. I want you to take in every survivor whether you know of them or now with care, you never know just what they may bring to the table".
A few eyes turned to look at Flame Prince who was now looking away disinterested.
My mom sighed before saying, "On to the second matter, Yaeger himself".
"With our research into Yaeger and everything that's happened so far, we have reason to believe he and, or his accomplices, may not be from our universe".
"What I mean by this is that he Isn't from any of our universe like a being from another layer of reality all together".
Everyone seemed to unconsciously sit up, no longer distracted by anything.
"So you're implying he's a guy from another multiverse?", Huntress Wizard questions.
"Not just a guy, a deity, a god. It wouldn't be far fetched considering everything he's caused".
"But it also puts into question why he hadn't arrive since and done anything since and truth be told, we don't know yet but we have a theory".
"We believe Yaeger needed someone to transverse these planes, someone he could possess or make a deal with. We believe that may be a reason why he came here".
"He's a threat but he hasn't done much since the start of the Merge but it doesn't mean you are to engage, only fight with two or more men if not then look to escape".
Silence befell the room again then my mom coughed a bit, almost tiredly. "That's the end of the meeting, I'm sure you all will be looking to rest, I will send the details of the next expedition soon".
With that she walked out the room, probably not wanting to talk here. I sighed disappointedly as people begin leaving batch by batch then the Flame Prince stood up to leave.
I grabbed the flaming arm, feeling much less pain than I probably ought to have but who really feels pain when they're angry.
I glared at him letting some anger seep out, his face scorned into an almost irritated look, we stayed quiet for a good second, even getting some looks from the other soldiers.
"You can talk about me all you want…but, if you go close to my mom again, the closest thing to you would be a blade".
With that i let him go and walked out with Jake following closely behind me, i didn't bother to meet my other friends as the altercation had soured my mood although I also felt I should have.
Me and Jake walked back to the hospital in relative silence, i tried to merely forget all about the situation and more on Yaeger.
We walked up to the receptionist who looked at my hand-which i was trying to vaguely hide now because of the burnt marks, and let us in.
As we walked through the corridor, I stared down at my feet when I heard a loud voice call out, "Finn!!".
I looked up to see BMO running at me, he ran to my legs and embarrassed them tightly, tears flowing down his digital cheeks.
"I'm so glad you're okay! I've been so scared!!".
I felt a pang of guilt as I thought about my other friends who I didn't meet and how they would've felt, BMO especially would've been very scared during the merge.
I tanked the pain and bent down giving my robot friend a deep hug, "I'm here BMO, I ain't ever leaving".
"Awww, let me in on this", Jake said before joining the hug.
After a few minutes of hugging in the corridor, we walked to my room and opened my door to another surprise.
"Surprise!! Welcome back Finn and Jake!!".
Flame Princess? Mom? Huntress Wizard? Simone? Lumpy space Princess?? T.V?? Lady Rainicorn? Susan?? Sweet pie?? Peppermint butler?? Lemongrab?? And even the alternate Finn and the girl one along with her cat.
All these people were in my room, spraying me with torn paper in place of confetti. The room smelled of food and the lights were almost brighter than usual.
"Guys?!", I questioned bewildered.
I got hugged first by my mom, "Welcome back Finn".
My eyes started tear up as i looked around the room at the caring eyes casting at us.
As long as I still have my friends, I'm sure we'll deal with any obstacle.
