The sound of Section E's laughter still echoed in the classroom, but inside me, everything was quiet. Too quiet.

The message repeated in my head like a curse.
I tucked my phone into my pocket and adjusted my blazer. No one could know. Not yet. If Section E found out… they'd panic. And if Keifer found out? He'd burn the whole city just to protect me.
No. This was mine to handle.
I took a slow breath, masking the storm inside me with a smirk. "You hyenas done?" I said, brushing past Denzel, who was still crying from laughter.
"Not until you admit you like him~" Mayo teased.
"Yeah, Jayfer supremacy!" Yuri added, snapping another photo of me and Keifer standing too close.
I rolled my eyes. "Keep it up, and I'll show the world your baby pictures, Yuri."
The class erupted again, but my mind was already elsewhere—calculating, planning.

When the final bell rang, I didn't head home. Instead, I slipped away to the Crownveil black car waiting near the back gate.
"Miss Mariano," my bodyguard bowed.
"Take me to headquarters," I ordered.
Inside the sleek, high-rise building of Crownveil Enterprises, I was no longer just Section E's Jay. I was Jasper Jean Mariano — CEO, heir, and the woman enemies wanted to destroy.
"Status report," I said, striding into the boardroom.
My assistant handed me a tablet. "We've intercepted more threats, ma'am. Multiple IP addresses. Same signature as the Kaizer Group."
Kaizer. That bastard. He wouldn't stop until he tore down everything I built.
"Double the school's security," I commanded. "Silent guards only. No one must notice."
"Yes, Miss Mariano."
"And prepare the drones," I added, my voice colder than ice. "If they think they can touch Section E… they'll regret ever breathing."

"Why do you think Jay disappeared so fast after class?" Felix asked.
"Probably went on another date with Watson~" Mayo teased.
"Or maybe she's CEO-ing somewhere," David muttered, sipping his coffee.
"CEO-ing?? That's not even a word!" Drew laughed.
They had no idea.
No idea that the girl they were teasing was already planning a silent war to protect them.

Something was off.
I leaned against the balcony of my family's estate, scrolling through my phone. Jay hadn't answered my last three texts. Normally, she'd send some sarcastic emoji, at least.
But nothing.
"She's hiding something," I muttered.
My fists clenched.
If she thought she could fight this battle alone… she was wrong.
