Jay's POV
The banquet slowly dissolved into laughter, clinking glasses, and reporters scrambling for quotes. Section E swarmed me, their faces glowing with pride and disbelief.
"Jay! Our Jay is CEO?! 😱🔥" Rory shouted, shaking me by the shoulders.
"Bruh, I still can't breathe—Jay, you actually fooled us all!" Eman yelled.
Felix grinned. "Legend. Absolute legend."
I smirked, letting them celebrate. They deserved it. But my eyes kept scanning the crowd—searching for him.
The phantom was gone.

Later, when the noise dimmed, a waiter approached. "For you, Miss Mariano." He handed me a folded note, sealed in black wax.
My stomach knotted, but I broke the seal anyway.
The handwriting was sharp, deliberate:

My lips twitched. A normal girl would panic. Cry. Crumble.
But me? I laughed.

I grabbed a pen from a passing reporter, flipped the note, and scribbled back:

I folded it neatly, slipped it into the waiter's tray, and sent it right back into the crowd.
If the phantom wanted a game, he'd get one. But he'd quickly learn—I don't play to lose.

I tilted my head, smirk tugging at my lips. "Maybe I am. Or maybe I'm just thinking about kissing someone."
He blinked, caught off guard. "Jay—"
I winked. "Relax, Keif. You'll know when it's your turn."
He groaned under his breath, cheeks flushing, and I strutted past him like I owned the entire hall. (Which, technically, I did.)

As I stepped outside into the night air, the city lights glittering before me, my phone buzzed.
One new message.
Unknown number.
> "Game on, Jasper Jean. 🎭🔥"
I smirked at the screen, heart steady, eyes gleaming.
"Game on."
