Chapter 30: Soul-Sucking Witch Meets Devil Loli
In the living room of the Connor house, the smell of blood was so thick it was sickening.
Bee curled up in a corner, trembling. Her three companions had all vanished, leaving behind only pools of blood and shattered limbs.
That seemingly harmless little girl was like a wolf in sheep's clothing, dragging them one by one into the darkness.
"Lily," Bee's voice trembled, "we can talk. I know you're not an ordinary child, but we're not ordinary people either. We can work together..."
"Work together?" Lily's voice came from the darkness, with a childish laugh. "Miss Bee, you want my blood, and I want your fear. Seems like I'm getting way more out of this deal right now."
Bee gritted her teeth and pulled a black crystal pendant from her shirt. This was her last trump card.
"Great Dorothy, your loyal servant begs you!" Bee held up the pendant, her voice becoming fanatical and devout. "Please descend with your divine power and save your humble believers!"
The pendant began to emit an eerie red glow, and the temperature in the entire living room plummeted. The air filled with the sweet, cloying scent of decaying flowers.
A figure slowly emerged from the red light.
It was a woman in a magnificent Gothic gown, her appearance both terrifying and beautiful—graceful figure, exaggerated and seductive makeup, pale skin, and a cold, elegant demeanor. Dressed in black, her overall image gave off a mysterious and terrifying vibe, with an elegant yet cruel smile on her lips.
Dorothy, the beautiful demoness of the underworld.
As soon as she appeared, she lifted Bee with one hand: "Thank you for summoning me, my dear." Dorothy's voice was as sweet as syrup. "However, I'll be taking your soul now."
Bee's eyes quickly dimmed, and her body slumped to the ground. Her soul transformed into a wisp of silver vapor and was absorbed into Dorothy's mouth.
Dorothy clapped her hands in satisfaction, then turned to look at Lily in the darkness.
"Interesting," a playful smile curved her lips, "look what I've found—a demon who feeds on fear."
Lily stepped out of the shadows, her innocent big eyes sparkling in the darkness.
She tilted her head, curiously examining the beautiful demoness who had suddenly appeared.
"Are you Dorothy?" Lily asked in a childish voice. "You look prettier than I imagined."
"Thank you for the compliment, little one." Dorothy curtsied gracefully. "But I'm more curious as to why a demon like you would appear in the human world? And in such a cute form?"
Lily blinked, then suddenly giggled: "Because I have an awesome master! He beat me with Purification, and then this happened."
"Purification?" Dorothy's eyes lit up. "Are you saying a human has mastered the power of angels?"
Dorothy was silent for a moment, then revealed an even brighter smile.
"It seems this world is much more interesting than I thought."
In the clearing behind Crystal Lake, thunder rumbled, and raindrops began to fall.
Edward and Jason stood face to face, the air thick with palpable tension.
"You know, big guy," Edward twirled the twin pistols in his hands, "I actually admire you. Killing people in the same place for decades, day in and day out—that kind of dedication is actually pretty respectable."
Jason didn't respond, only gripping the machete in his hand tightly. Through the worn hockey mask, a pair of eyes filled with murderous intent could be vaguely seen.
"However," Edward's tone suddenly became serious, "tonight you're not facing those unarmed teenagers. I came prepared."
As soon as he finished speaking, Jason moved.
The seemingly slow killer burst out with astonishing speed, instantly rushing in front of Edward.
The machete, whistling through the air, chopped down directly, aimed straight for Edward's head.
Edward was ready, and he narrowly dodged the fatal blow by shifting his body to the right. At the same time, Ivory and Ebony fired simultaneously.
"BANG! BANG!"
Silver bullets tore through the night sky, but Jason's reaction was equally swift. He raised his machete, and the bullets struck the blade, sending sparks flying.
But this time was different—Edward's bullets were imbued with the power of Purification.
When the bullets struck the machete, a sacred white light instantly erupted, and Jason let out a muffled grunt, his body involuntarily staggering back a few steps.
"How's that feel?" Edward grinned. "Not so great, huh?"
Jason looked down at his machete; several small cracks had appeared on the blade. He raised his head, and the killing intent in his eyes grew even stronger.
He attacked again, this time even more ferociously. The machete swung brutally in his hand, each blow carrying a deadly threat.
Edward continuously dodged, his twin pistols firing repeatedly. The infinite bullets of Ebony and Ivory traced silver arcs in the night sky, each one containing the power of Purification.
Wounds began to appear on Jason's body, and wisps of white smoke rose from the places hit by the Purification bullets. But he seemed to feel no pain, and his attacks became even more frenzied.
"Damn, truly an immortal body," Edward muttered as he dodged. "Looks like I'll have to get serious."
He suddenly stopped, crossing his twin pistols over his chest.
"Telekinesis!"
Invisible force instantly erupted, and Jason's body was violently pushed away, crashing into a large tree.
The tree trunk let out a cracking sound, and Jason's body left a human-shaped indentation in the bark.
But he quickly stood up, as if the impact had been nothing more than a minor inconvenience.
"What a monster," Edward muttered.
Just then, terrified screams came from the distance.
Something had happened at the camp.
In the girls' cabin, Carrie was awakened from her sleep by a clap of thunder. She sat up and saw that it was raining outside, with continuous thunder.
Her roommates were still sound asleep, but Carrie felt an inexplicable unease. She quietly got up and walked to the window to look out.
The counselor cabins were completely dark, not even a single light on. This was highly unusual, since counselors usually took turns on night duty.
Carrie hesitated for a moment but decided to go check it out. She carefully put on her jacket and pushed open the door to leave.
Raindrops hit her face, bringing a hint of coolness. She walked toward the counselor cabins, and the further she went, the stronger her unease became.
When she reached the first cabin, she found the door was ajar. Through the crack in the door, she saw what was inside.
A body lay on the ground, its chest pierced by something, blood pooling everywhere.
Carrie covered her mouth, trying hard not to scream. She trembled as she backed away, but her foot slipped, and she fell in the mud.
"Ahhh—!" She finally couldn't hold back her scream.
This scream broke the night's silence, and soon other students were awakened. Lights began to turn on in various cabins, and students rushed out to check what was happening.
When they saw the gruesome scene in the counselor cabin, panic instantly spread.
"Call 911!"
"The phone's dead!"
"No signal!"
The students panicked; some cried, some screamed, some tried to run out of the camp, but quickly found that the road leading out was blocked by fallen trees.
"Everyone calm down!" a senior shouted. "Let's gather in the mess hall—it's safer there!"
The students rushed to the mess hall, and Carrie followed in the crowd. But as she ran, she looked around for a familiar figure.
Edward wasn't there.
She didn't see Edward anywhere.
Carrie suddenly understood. Given Edward's personality, if a killer really appeared, he would never hide. He must have gone to find that killer.
Thinking of this, a wave of worry surged in Carrie's heart. Although she knew Edward was formidable, their opponent was the legendary Jason Voorhees.
In the mess hall, more than thirty students huddled together, fear etched on every face. Outside, thunder rumbled, and the rain grew heavier, as if the entire camp was enveloped in a shroud of death.
"What do we do?" a girl asked, crying.
"Wait until dawn," the senior said. "As long as we hold out until sunrise, someone will come to rescue us."
But Carrie knew that on this terrifying night, the only one who could save them might be the guy currently fighting the killer in the back hills.
She clenched her fists tightly, silently praying.
Edward, please come back safe.
