Beneath the Gray Shell, an Unborn Core
The moment Aras stepped into the Ash-Veil, the world collapsed into shapeless silence.Time loosened, color dimmed, breath thinned as if everything around him had briefly forgotten the weight of existence.
Aras wasn't walking anymore. He wasn't falling either. He was simply being read.
The Veil was not a place. It was a consciousness—a chamber that examined not the body, but the center of a being.
And for the first time in its long memory, the Veil hesitated.
The Mist Tightens Into a Circle
The mist began to rotate around Aras, drawing a slow, deliberate circle. It wasn't wind—there was no wind here.It was intention.A ring of judgment forming around him.
From within the stone veins, Lira's voice murmured:
"Steady yourself, Aras… the Veil is seeing you."
Aras tried to ground himself, but gravity had abandoned the place. He clenched his fists—yet even the feeling of his own fingers was muted.
Then the first symbols appeared, forming out of drifting ash:
[COLOR SCAN INITIATED]
This was no mere test. This was identity, fate, possibility being laid bare.
What color the Veil chose for you determined which path you would walk—or whether you would walk at all.
The Birth of the Gray Shell
A faint glow rose around him.Not light. Not darkness.
Just absence.
A shell of Gray wrapped itself around Aras.
Cold.Still.Emotionless.
The Veil accepted it without question:
[COLOR: GRAY][SCAN COMPLETE]
Lira gasped, the sound trembling through the stone.
"No… no, that can't be right."
Aras looked down at himself, stunned."Gray…? Is that bad?"
"Gray isn't a color, Aras!" Lira cried softly."It's a covering.A mask.A shell that hides the core beneath it!"
Aras swallowed hard."Why would it hide me?"
Lira didn't answer.
Because she didn't know.
The Forbidden Flicker — The Inner Purple Ring
Then—the Gray shell trembled.
Just once.Barely noticeable.
But Aras felt something inside pushing outward.
A thin crack of light split open—and from the breach a Purple inner ring blazed forth.
Not Bright Purple, not Pale Purple—both at once.
A contradiction.A living paradox.
The ring pulsed a single time—a heartbeat of raw potential—and vanished.
Only two beings perceived it:
● Lira● Aras's inner system sight
The Veil did not see it.And that terrified it.
The Veil Begins to Break Down
The mist convulsed.Symbols flickered, shifted, collapsed.
[INTERNAL COLOR ANOMALY][WARNING: CONTRADICTION DETECTED][CORE NOT VISIBLE][RESULT: UNDEFINED][ERROR][ERROR]
Lira's voice dropped to a whisper.
"Aras… the Veil can't read you.That is… dangerous."
Aras felt his pulse spike."What happens if it can't judge me?"
"If it cannot understand you…" Lira said softly,"…it may try to remove you."
The First Pulse of the Core — Between Black Hole and White Hole
A pressure bloomed in Aras's chest.
Heavy.Expanding.Impossible.
Like a tiny star collapsing inward and exploding outward in the same instant.
A pulling force, like a black hole—a collapsing gravity.
And a bursting force, like a white hole—a creation pressure.
Opposing.Incomplete.Unborn.
Aras fell to his knees.
"This isn't me…"
The system responded:
[NULL-CORE DETECTED][TYPE: POTENTIAL CORE][STATUS: FULLY LOCKED][ACCESS: 0%]
Aras trembled.
"Locked… why locked?"
The Veil's voice was not sound—it was law.
"Because if you open, you must choose a direction. If you fall to Black, you devour. If you bloom to White, you create."
Aras shook his head violently.
"I don't want to destroy anything!I don't want to create anything either!"
The Veil replied:
"Your desire may not matter."
The Gray Shell Behaves Like a Living Seal
As Aras tried to stand, the Gray halo expanded—on its own.
Not reacting.Acting.
[WARNING: GRAY HALO MOVING INDEPENDENTLY]
Lira recoiled.
"Aras… that isn't a shield.It's a seal."
"A seal against what?" Aras whispered.
Lira closed her eyes.
"Against you."
Gecesu's Breath From Afar
A distant tremor of darkness passed through the mist.
No shape,no voice—just the weight of an ancient presence brushing against the world.
Gecesu.
Aras felt the breath before he understood it,a cold inquiry touching the shell around him.
The system reacted instantly:
[EXTERNAL SCAN DETECTED][CORE: HIDDEN][ACCESS DENIED TO OUTSIDE ENTITY]
Gecesu tried to read Aras—and failed.
It withdrew, but the air tightened,as if the world itself had clenched.
Lira's voice shook.
"He didn't understand you. That means he may try to destroy you…or claim you."
Aras closed his eyes.
"I don't want either."
The Veil's Final Judgment — The Birth of a Threshold Being
The Veil reassembled its symbols. Each line shook as if written with uncertainty.
[JUDGMENT COMPLETE]
[COLOR: GRAY — SHELL][INNER RING: PURPLE — HIDDEN][CORE: NULL — FULLY LOCKED][POWER ACCESS: 0%][ENTITY CLASS: THRESHOLD]
The final verdict descended like cold rain:
[…THIS BEING WILL EITHER OPEN A HOLE INTO NOTHINGNESS…OR GIVE BIRTH TO A WORLD…BUT NOT YET.]
The mist split apart. The Veil released him.
Aras staggered out, barely holding himself upright. The world looked different now—colors pulled inward, shadows leaned toward him,air clung more tightly to his skin.
Reality seemed to wait for him to take a step.
Aras pressed a trembling hand to his chest.
"I am locked…but something inside me…is waiting to break the lock."
And deep within him, the Null-Core—neither dark nor light, neither void nor creation—beat a single, patient pulse.
Not yet.But someday.
