Reed's POV
Jenifer's defense of Kolton hit me like a punch to the gut. I stood there, stunned.
If all those years came down to her poor judgment, then what did that make me? And Romano?
"Arguing won't accomplish anything, Reed. I'm divorcing you regardless of what you say or do." She spun around and marched toward city hall. Her determination left me speechless. I had no choice but to trail behind her.
We emerged from the building together. Kolton rushed to Jenifer's side the moment he spotted her, and they headed for his car.
"Jenifer," I called after her. "You're really going to abandon Romano and me for him?" I couldn't let this go.
I refused to accept that Kolton was somehow better than me.
With our son in the picture, I couldn't believe she'd actually walk away.
She stopped and turned back with a tired exhale. "Reed, this divorce has nothing to do with Kolton."
