The divorce topic set Natalia off completely.
Her palm crashed down on the table. "What's going through his head? He wants to keep that mistress around but won't grant you freedom? Does he imagine he can possess it all?"
Simply discussing Reed fueled Natalia's rage further. She flicked my forehead lightly. "What attracted you to someone like him in the first place? You abandoned your own relatives for his sake. Such a waste."
I understood my past choices had been wrong, but those days were behind me. Dwelling on regret wouldn't alter history.
Truth was, I didn't feel completely sorry about everything. Even with all the drama involving Reed and Romano, we'd shared beautiful moments that I still treasured.
My desire for divorce now came from recognizing our relationship had reached its end. No one was truly to blame. Our love had simply died out.
