He downed a large gulp of water before continuing with evident frustration, "Word is spreading that the Gould and Kellers are joining forces through marriage once more to rebuild their alliance." He shared every piece of information he'd managed to collect.
I went still for a moment. 'They couldn't even wait for the divorce papers to be signed?' A quiet laugh escaped me.
I've been aware of their situation all along. Since I'm leaving regardless, it doesn't matter to me if they accelerate their timeline.
I remained silent, methodically flipping through the pages of my book. "Reed and Lorelei were destined to end up together eventually. They had an engagement before, after all."
I hesitated momentarily before continuing. "Since I've chosen to divorce him, his affairs are no longer my business. Kolton, you don't need to harbor such anger about this anymore. Don't waste your energy on people who don't deserve it."
