I gave a quick nod.
Kolton felt uneasy about leaving me by myself, so he made it clear he was staying put.
I couldn't argue with him, so I decided to let it slide—as long as he didn't stir up any drama.
Stretched out on the bed, I scrolled through the photos Lorelei had sent and quickly took screenshots, saving them for later use.
When Reed keeps dragging his feet on this divorce, I'll have plenty of ammunition ready.

The following morning, I remembered Lorelei mentioning that Jenifer had gone to pick up Kolton. I figured it was time for a real conversation with her.
I dialed Jenifer's number, but the call still wouldn't connect.
My jaw tightened.
Even my hired investigators couldn't locate Jenifer. Unless I turned to the black market...
But Kolton Zach controlled the "black market." If he wanted someone to disappear, not even underground contacts could trace Jenifer—much less me.
The realization made my agitation worse.
