Eliza's words caught me off guard, but what happened next left me completely stunned—she suddenly dropped into a deep bow.
Every parent nearby froze in shock and quickly stepped back.
I sat there in my wheelchair, speechless. Never in a million years had I expected Eliza to pull something this dramatic.
*Why is she doing this? Eliza's always despised me. So why is she so desperate to drag me back to the Gould family now?* The whole thing made zero sense.
"Jenifer, are you satisfied now? Will you finally come home and bring Romano with you?" Eliza's voice cracked as tears poured down her face, her pleading eyes locked on mine.
But I caught something else flickering in her gaze—a flash of pure hatred.
Romano's shock at his grandmother's behavior made him forget his own tears. He rushed to her side, his voice shaking. "Grandma, I don't need Mom anymore, okay? Please just get up."
