Honno City - Streets
The silence of the abandoned city was shattered by the roar of a motorcycle. COVERS drifted aimlessly until the bike smashed through them.
Ryuko: Out of my way!
Senketsu: Ryuko, focus! Don't let your anger consume you!
Ryuko: I know! But AFO and Ragyo have him! Life Fiber Synchronize: Kamui Senketsu!
Ryuko transformed, the boosters on her bike flaring. She tore through the COVERS, her Scissor Blade decapitating them in droves.
Senketsu: Ryuko! Your blood flow... it's incredible. We are perfectly synchronized.
Ryuko: If we're this strong, we can save him. We have to save him.
Honnouji Academy - Service Entrance
Satsuki and Tsumugu moved like shadows. On Satsuki's arms were the heavy, black Grenadier Bracers. She adjusted the straps, feeling the residual heat stored within them.
Satsuki: (whisper) Two guards.
Tsumugu: I got them.
Satsuki: No.
Satsuki stepped out. She slammed the gauntlets together. Click. She punched the air, sending a concentrated blast of air pressure and heat that knocked the COVERS into the wall, shattering their masks.
Tsumugu: ...Effective.
Satsuki: Let's move.
Honnouji Academy Schoolyard
Ryuko burst into the courtyard. Nui Harime dropped from the sky.
Nui: Amazing! You're so wild today, Ryuko!
Ryuko: Glares Where is Y/N!?
The Reveal
A spotlight hit the massive tower. Ragyo Kiryuin descended the stairs.
Ragyo: Such impatience.
The ground split open. A stage rose up. In the center, chained to a cross made of glowing Life Fibers and medical tubing, was Y/N.
Ryuko: Y/N!!!!!
He was limp. Tubes ran from his chest—specifically from the scar over his heart—pumping golden, explosive energy into a container.
Senketsu: Ryuko... his heartbeat... it's erratic. It's beating too fast!
Ragyo: Giggles Helping my partner. Y/N's body produces such fascinating energy. We're simply... harvesting it.
The Rescue
Satsuki: (On Radio) NOW!
Explosions rocked the academy walls. Tsumugu's sniper fire rained down on Ragyo.
Satsuki: Gamagoori!
Gamagoori burst from the ground beneath the stage, ripping the chains off Y/N.
Gamagoori: I HAVE THE TARGET!
Satsuki and Ryuko landed on the stage.
Satsuki: This ends now, Mother! We are taking him back!
Ragyo: Smirks Oh? Do you really think he can go back? AFO, if you would?
All For One (Intercom): Activate the puppet.
Gamagoori: GAAAAH!
BOOM.
A massive explosion point-blanked Gamagoori, sending the giant man flying across the courtyard.
Ryuko: What!?
Standing in the smoke was Y/N. His skin was grey. His hair was stark, bone-white. His eyes were open, glazed over, glowing with a dull, feverish red light.
(Y/N): ...Target... Identified...
Y/N lifted his arm. A needle shot out of his wrist, injecting a green stimulant directly into his neck.
(Y/N): Life Fiber Override: Kamui Reiketsu.
The suit consumed him. He looked like a weapon set to self-destruct.
Satsuki: Y/N! Snap out of it!
Y/N slammed his foot down. Explosion. The shockwave cleared the stage.
Ryuko: Y/N! It's me!
CRACK.
Y/N appeared behind Ryuko, kicking her spine. Ryuko flew into the air. Y/N followed, moving faster than sound. He juggled her—punch, kick, blast—before spiking her into the ground.
Nui: Yay! He's fighting without his safety limits!
Ragyo: Indeed. AFO has removed the mental barriers. His heart is redlining, but he will kill them before it gives out.
Y/N landed on Ryuko, grabbing her throat.
Ryuko: Choking Y-Y/N... stop... please... I can hear your heart... it's going to burst!
He squeezed harder. His face was blank. Tears of blood leaked from his eyes. His chest was heaving, a audible thump-thump echoing like a drum.
Satsuki: GET AWAY FROM HER!
Satsuki charged, priming the Grenadier Bracers. She swung a massive right hook. Y/N caught the gauntlet, but the explosion forced him to let go of Ryuko.
The Fall
Ryuko stood up, shaky.
Ryuko: Y/N! Fight it!
Y/N walked toward her. He grabbed her by the throat again, lifting her high.
Ragyo: Strip her, Y/N.
RIIIIP.
With a sickening tear, Y/N ripped Senketsu off Ryuko's body and tossed him aside.
Ragyo: Godrobe Junketsu.
The white suit descended, wrapping around the broken Ryuko. Ragyo stepped forward, weaving her fingers into Ryuko's mind, rewriting her memories.
Ryuko's eyes went blank. Then, they sharpened.
Ryuko: ...Mother?
Ragyo: Welcome home, my daughter. Look who waited for you.
Ryuko looked at Y/N. The brainwashed, white-haired boy stood at attention, his entire body vibrating from the stress.
Ryuko: You waited for me...
She walked up to him and kissed him deeply. Y/N stood still, a statue of violence.
The Rupture
Ryuko pulled back from the kiss, smiling lovingly.
Ryuko: I missed you so much. We can finally be together.
(Y/N): ...Target... Eliminated...
Y/N's red eyes flickered. He took a step toward Satsuki to finish her off.
Thump-THUMP.
It was loud. A wet, straining sound from his chest.
(Y/N): Gasp...
He froze mid-step. His hands flew to his chest, clawing at the starburst scar.
Ryuko: Y/N? Darling?
AFO (Intercom): Disappointing. The engine has failed.
(Y/N): GAH-!
POP.
A massive torrent of dark blood erupted from Y/N's mouth, spraying over Ryuko's white Junketsu uniform.
Ryuko: !?
(Y/N)'s knees buckled. The silver hair lost its shine. The red glow in his eyes vanished, leaving them dull and empty.
He fell forward. Ryuko caught him.
Ryuko: Y/N!
He was heavy. Dead weight.
(Y/N): ...
He didn't breathe. The loud drumming of his heart was replaced by a terrifying silence.
Satsuki: Watching from the ground No...
Ryuko: Hey... Y/N? Wake up.
She shook him. His head lolled back. Blood dripped from his nose and ears.
Nui: Aww! He broke!
Ragyo: A pity. But the body is still useful. Bring him inside, Ryuko. AFO wishes to dissect him.
Ryuko: ...Yes... Mother...
Ryuko hugged the corpse tight, her eyes swirling with madness. She turned to walk away with him.
The Recovery
Satsuki grit her teeth. Tears formed in her eyes, but she forced them back.
Satsuki: I cannot save Ryuko today... but I will be damned if I let that monster AFO dissect Y/N like a lab rat.
Satsuki: Tsumugu! Smoke rounds! NOW!
Tsumugu: Copy!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Thick, anti-Life Fiber smoke filled the stage.
Ryuko: What!? I can't see!
Satsuki charged through the smoke. She didn't aim for Ryuko. She aimed for the ground between them.
Satsuki: AP SHOT!
She slammed the Grenadier Bracers into the floor. The explosion was massive. It blew Ryuko backward, loosening her grip on the body.
Ryuko: NO!
Satsuki lunged through the dust. She grabbed Y/N's lifeless arm. He was cold.
Satsuki: I'm sorry, Y/N. This is the only way.
She hauled his body over her shoulder. It was heavy, but the adrenaline fueled her.
Ryuko: GIVE HIM BACK!
Ryuko slashed blindly through the smoke, Junketsu screaming. The blade grazed Satsuki's cheek.
Satsuki: Gamagoori! Catch us!
Satsuki jumped off the stage, holding Y/N's corpse tight. Gamagoori, recovered from the wall, caught them both in his massive hands.
Gamagoori: I HAVE THEM! TO THE CHOPPER!
Nonon and Sanageyama provided covering fire as the group sprinted to the Nudist Beach helicopter hovering low.
The Escape
They threw Y/N's body into the cargo bay. Satsuki jumped in after him.
Ryuko burst out of the smoke, her eyes glowing red, tears streaming down her face.
Ryuko: SATSUKI!!!!!
Ryuko jumped, her Scissor Blade extended, aiming to slice the chopper in half.
Satsuki aimed the Grenadier Bracer one last time.
Satsuki: Forgive me, sister.
BOOM.
A massive explosion from the gauntlet hit Ryuko mid-air, blasting her back down into the courtyard.
The chopper banked hard and flew away.
Aftermath
Ryuko lay in the crater, screaming at the sky.
Ryuko: YOU TOOK HIM! YOU KILLED HIM AND YOU TOOK HIM!!! I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL YOU ALL!!!
Ragyo walked up behind her, placing a hand on her shoulder.
Ragyo: Shhh. Calm down, my daughter. They stole your beloved... they stole his rest.
Ryuko: Grit teeth I'm going to get him back...
Inside the helicopter, the mood was funereal.
Satsuki sat on the floor, panting. Next to her lay Y/N.
His eyes were open, staring at nothing. His chest was still. The blood from his mouth had pooled on the metal floor.
Gamagoori: Lady Satsuki... is he...?
Satsuki reached out and gently closed Y/N's eyes. She placed her hand over his heart. Silence.
Satsuki: ...The heart has ruptured. He is gone.
Nonon: ...So we rescued a corpse?
Satsuki: We denied AFO his prize. Y/N fought to the bitter end. He deserves a hero's burial, not to be a science experiment for that tyrant.
Satsuki gripped Y/N's cold hand, her knuckles turning white.
Satsuki: Rest now, Y/N. I swear... I will burn them all for this.
