Leo's POV
Alpha Javion waits at the boundary of his territory, flanked by a wall of warriors whose eyes track my every movement. He knew I was coming. The bastard always seems to be one step ahead, but it doesn't matter anymore. He has what belongs to me, and I'm not leaving without her.
I force my lips into what I hope passes for a friendly smile as I step out of my vehicle. "Alpha Javion." My voice sounds strained even to my own ears. "It's been far too long."
Javion's weathered face remains stone cold. I should have expected this. The Wildmane Pack may be smaller than mine, but their Alpha didn't earn his reputation by being naive. His web of alliances stretches further than any other Alpha's for good reason. He knows exactly how to play this deadly game we're all trapped in.
"Drop the act, Leo." His growl cuts through the morning air. "State your business."
