CHAPTER 19: THE MAN WHO WON'T BACK DOWN

A kiss that hasn't even touched can ignite a bloody war. Tonight, both bosses are ready to burn everything down.

Diego acts first, lightning fasthis hand wraps around Evelyn's waist, yanking her out of Viktor's arms in an instant. No warning, no hesitation.

Her body crashes into his solid chest, the scent of his cologne mixed with his hot breath making her heart pound wildly. But immediately, Viktor's large hand clamps down on her shoulder, locking her tight.

The air in the luxurious penthouse suddenly goes dead silent. No one speaks, but Evelyn feels the oxygen drained away, replaced by the suffocating clash of these two powers.

Two men's bodies press close on both sides of herone is Diego with scorching heat radiating from his hips, the other Viktor with hands like burning fire on her skin. Her heart thuds, cold sweat breaking out on her neck.

Diego grips her hips tight, pulling her half a step toward hima silent but authoritative claim. Viktor counters instantly, his hand on her waist, pulling back just enough so she doesn't fully lean into Diego.

Over Evelyn's trembling shoulder, their eyes meetnot overt hatred, but possessive instinct so thick it could slice the air.

Viktor speaks first,

"She's leaning toward me."

Diego smirks, but it's a dark, dangerous smile.

"No. She fell into me first."

"Because you yanked her like a thief," Viktor shoots back, voice sharp as a blade. "Not because she chose you."

Diego doesn't flinch. He squeezes Evelyn's waist lightlynot painful, but strong enough to make her breath hitch into a soft moan, echoing in the space.

"This breath," he whispers, eyes locked on Viktor, "is because of me."

Evelyn panics, hands on Diego's chest trying to push away for spacebut that only makes Viktor grip her waist harder, pulling her tight against him. Hot breath from Viktor's body hits her ear, his voice low and seductive:

"Evelyn, who's closer to you right now?"

She turns her head instinctively, trying to dodge that deadly question.

Fatal mistake.

Her lips brush dangerously close to Viktor'sso near she feels his breath trembling on her skin. Diego sees it all, jealousy exploding like hellfire. He wraps his arm behind her neck, yanking her head toward him hard.

A possessive declaration: "Viktor, you're not the only one she looks at. She's looking at me."

"Diego," Viktor growls, voice turning deadly as a scythe,

"let her go. Right! Now!"

"No." Diego replies light as breath, but his eyes ice cold. "This is the first time she leaned into me on her ownnot because you pulled."

"Wrong," Viktor counters, his hand sliding up her back, caressing like marking territory. "She leaned because she lost balance. I'm the one she grabbed to steady herself."

Evelyn can't take it anymore, she screams:

"Stop!!"

Both in unison, voices full of deadly menace:

"Be quiet, Evelyn."

Their voicesdeep, sharpsilence her, body shaking.

Viktor doesn't wait.

He steps forward, pressing his chest against hers so tight Evelyn feels his heartbeat like war drums.

Diego doesn't back downhe pulls her hips flush against him, the hardness from his lower body pressing tight, making her flush red. Two forces like taut steel cables, tearing her in opposite directions. The penthouse space trembles with their heavy breaths.

"You two... can't pull me like this!"

Evelyn gasps, voice breaking from exhaustion and... some strange emotion rising.

Viktor leans down, eyes glued to her trembling lips:

"If you lean to one side... that's your choice."

Diego pulls her waist lightly toward him, his lips brushing her ear.

"If you let me hold you like this... that's a choice too."

"I haven't chosen anyone!" Evelyn yells, voice cracking in despair.

Diego chuckles softly, his breath like fire on her skin: "Your body has chosen, Evelyn. Don't lie to yourself."

Viktor doesn't give her a breath. His large hand on her back, sliding slowly up her shoulder bladea electric touch making her spine arch, unconsciously pressing closer to him.

"The problem," Viktor whispers, voice like molten metal, "is your body is choosing both of us."

Evelyn clenches her fists, mind spinning in chaos:

"I... don't... I don't want"

"Not your fault," Diego cuts in, lips brushing her earlobe. "You were born to make men lose control. And tonight, we're the victims."

Viktor presses even closer, his body like a wall of fire.

"But we two don't share. Never."

Diego grabs her chin, turning her face to him roughly but seductively: "He doesn't speak for me, Viktor. She's mine."

Their eyes lock on her, two men who've killed hundreds for territory, now separated only by one fragile woman's body.

The tense air explodes, Evelyn feels her stomach knot like it's being stabbed.

"Stop," she whispers, voice trembling with fear mixed with forbidden desire. "Don't turn me into your battlefield."

Diego pulls her face closer, his lips grazing hers by a hair's breadth:

"But you are the battlefield, Evelyn. The most beautiful one we've ever fought over."

Viktor presses his hand to her stomach, pulling her tight against himthe hardness of him pressing clearly into her lower body, choking her.

"And this battlefield... I won't back down."

"Me neither," Diego retorts, voice cold as ice.

Unconsciously, she grabs Viktor's collar with one hand, the other clawing Diego's armseeking support to not collapse.

Diego looks down at her hand: "See, Viktor. She grabbed me first."

"She grabbed to not fall into you," Viktor growls. "And if she falls... it'll be into me."

Their eyes meetsparks flying, smoke rising, ready to erupt into war.

"You two... are going crazy..." She pants, voice completely lost.

Diego whispers against her lips: "For who, Evelyn? Say it."

She can't answer. But her heart screams both their names.

Viktor acts suddenly.

He tilts his face, pressing his lips closer to hers than ever so near their lips touch in a small, sweet deadly tremor. Evelyn lets out a choked gasp, her body melting.

Diego sees it all. Jealousy like acid burns his reason. He yanks her face to him instantly, his lips sliding over her soft cheek, down to the corner of her mouthtwo men's lips, one in front one behind, enclosing her breath in a deadly siege.

She's about to lose control completely.

And right at the moment both pairs of lips are about to touch her
