Prologue
"Help you with your stream?"
"Yup."
At the half-hearted reply, Lee Dohyun tilted his head.
It was because what his older sister just said had completely thrown him off.
"Me? On a stream?"
He did know that his sister, Lee Seungyeon, ran a personal livestream channel.
It was a stream centered mainly around virtual-reality games, and from what he'd heard, she had a decent number of viewers and made a pretty tidy profit from it.
Though he'd never actually watched it.
Dohyun had never seen Seungyeon's stream with his own eyes.
He'd only heard about it in passing.
Because Dohyun didn't watch personal streams to begin with.
Honestly, even aside from streaming, he didn't play VR games at all.
Not because of some dramatic reason—he just never got into it, and so he simply… never did.
Of course, it's not like he'd never played a game before.
He had tried a few mobile games on his smartphone.
He'd deleted them quickly because they didn't suit him, but still.
To someone like him, even Seungyeon's livestreaming felt like something happening in a distant world.
He only remembered it at all because it was a family matter.
But why is she asking me to help?
From what he knew, Seungyeon's main content was VR games.
But he had never touched a VR game in his life.
What was a total gaming beginner like him supposed to do on a stream centered around VR games?
And she knows that better than anyone.
Seungyeon knew Dohyun had never played VR games.
That was exactly why he found her request so confusing.
It made him curious what sort of stream she planned to do with someone like him.
Maybe she guessed what he was thinking.
Seungyeon spoke in a relaxed voice.
"I'm working on a new content series, you know? And I need your help for it, little brother."
"New content?"
"Basically, a VR game tour with family members. Mom and Dad each appeared once before. Now it's your turn."
She said it as if everything was already decided. Dohyun shrugged.
Virtual-reality games.
He'd never played them before, but that didn't mean he had zero interest.
He had been thinking of trying one someday.
He just didn't know when "someday" would ever actually come.
Taking her suggestion as an opportunity to try VR gaming didn't sound like such a bad idea.
Especially since it was vacation season and he had nothing else to do anyway.
The streaming part is a little bothersome, but… oh well.
It wasn't TV—it was just a personal livestream. And if even their parents had appeared on it before, then it probably wasn't a big deal.
If it were something problematic, Seungyeon wouldn't have even asked.
Seems fine, honestly.
That's what Dohyun thought, but he didn't nod right away.
Instead, he simply narrowed his eyes at her.
It was the look of "You've got more to say, right?"
"Tsk."
Seungyeon chuckled at her brother's behavior.
She could see right through him.
After a moment of thought, she spoke in a low voice.
"Appearance fee: 100,000 won as pocket money. Plus 10% of video revenue. Deal?"
"Okay, deal."
A short negotiation took place.
Both siblings smiled slyly, satisfied with their win-win exchange.
But neither of them knew.
That this moment would one day be known as the birth of the VR gamer hailed as
"The Greatest Natural Talent of All Time," "The One-Person Maxed-Out Stats Cheat Character," and "The Genius."
