Sat on the roof of a building sipping tiny gulps of water at his home.
The village life was never good especially when your dead broke
And he climbed down the latter.
Life was always a conundrum as he walked aimlessly through the street
Life passing by faster then a train.
But if it couldn't get any worse water from the train splashed him
Soaking his clothes and his hair he sighed "why me"
He said.emotionless he walked into a store selling flask
With the money he saved he was able to get a little bottle
Of water not like it was gonna help much. Better then nothing-
He sat in front of the store owners fan to dry off
While drinking slow gulps from the water bottle then he
Walked out the store taking sips of water every now and then.
He walked back to his home a warehouse
Or wherever home was-
In his deepest parts of his mind he thought of eating a delicious steak
With potatoes and a side of pop oh how he wanted a meal that good.
"What did I do so wrong to deserve such a fate" his words hung heavy
With no answer insight as he reached the corner to his house/warehouse
He saw some guys beating up random for God knows what reason.
But a fate much worse was the selection that happened every few years
Anyone who went in either got a trait died or didn't come back the same
And went on like this for as long as time had a name.
Whether you wanted or didn't if you were chosen you had to play apart of
That brutal death wish of a game
And it wasn't for the weak the stronger you were the better
Being smart really didn't count for anything.
But there Was always a catch you could get a curse of blessing
It was often curse for people but the people that got blessing were normally
From higher families it was hierarchy of power, the better family the better chance you had.
But Ash didn't have a family so everything he worked for
He got himself but soon he knew a 16 year couldn't support
Himself they way he needed to
So every month he would save up what he had and bought
Some green peas and eight one every day.
Because that was the only thing he had enough for
Or he would go hungry but if he was starving he'd eat two instead
Of one. And they only way to know is if you had a mysterious symbol
On your neck a few days before you were chosen.
So Ash walked all the way to the hospital and went to the front desk
Then the front desk women raised her eyes at him while sucking on
Lollipop then he saw him and rolled her eyes "what do sweetheart"
She said taking out the lollipop out her mouth and dropping it in her water
Leaving her mouth hanging open.
Then he just showed her his neck her face paled with worry
"When did this happen?" She tried to say calmly but hints of panic were visible
"Few days ago" her face got even pale her as she called someone while pressing the code blue button on the right of her sirens went off.
"CODE BLUE!!!!!' She yelled through the phone as police and scientist
Somehow appeared like they had been waiting for this to happen.
The reason the front desk women acted they way she did is because
Once you were chosen for the selection it was only a few days before you
Disappeared but to prevent your body from Disappearing they would lock you in cryo-chamber keeping his physical body from Disappearing.
So they put him in these weirds mechanism they put it around his head
Legs and body as one scientist was definitely a looker
She was one of those girls that the boys would kiss the ground she walked on.
"Hey listen to me kid your gonna be ok" the female scientist said while getting the chamber ready "you look pretty" He said since he was gonna die anyways he might as well be bold.
"Well thanks to me surviving the selection I look this good" she responded
Ash looked up and down "Ok kid the traits automatically make you look perfect and your physically more gifted and faster and smarter then you were when you entered" she said "so why did you become a scientist?" He asked
"To help people survive like someone helped me survive"
She said then she looked at him before pressing the open button to the cryo-chamber.
"Sorry but we have to out you to sleep before you can go in"
She said while holding Anastasia pills and then she made him swallow
It so at if he dies the first thing he saw was a beautiful women.
Even if she was older then him.
Then he was slowly put in the cryo-chamber
As water poured into his ears as he awoke in a white room
The room felt silent the air cold and heavy and he saw
other people they all wore white short shirts with white short pants
And handcuffs.
He wore the same thing
But the problem was he was dizzy and he felt like blood was pouring into his-
Head as everyone looked around the room confused but
Ash still the whole time never made a single emotion
As he stood up and looked around the room.
And felt the cushion walls as two men walked into
The room holding tasers "come on you pigs once we get to the mountain we shortening this group" one of the men said while keeping a stern look on his face
And the room roughly had about 200 hundred people in it but they couldn't keep the two waiting they were the one with the tazers after all.
