Cody Calloway loves Helldivers 2. While he didn't become a Helldiver since the game came out, he eventually learned of the game and instantly fell in love with it. While he wasn't a high-ranking player, he still enjoyed the game as he mostly did Solo dives with occasional team dives. Other than his gaming life, he's enjoyed a rather normal life. He lives on his own as his parents were rather eager for him to move out. He doesn't know why and never bothered to ask. So, he lived his life the way he wanted to. Cody can be described as a lively and charismatic person who is rather fanatical about Democracy. Cody has said multiple times that he'll die for Democracy any day, any week, any year. He's a weird fellow but he doesn't care. Cody spends most of his free time practicing Martial Arts and hiking purely for fun. He still plays Helldivers 2, but he balances his life. One day he decided to go for a hike far from home and little did he know but that hike would change his life forever.
He was currently hiking in a forest mountain area and as he moved across the cliff edge carefully, he noticed a large cave and debated if he should go inside. As he stood there debating, he began talking to himself.
"Should I or Should I not go into this cave." Cody said.
He stood there for a few more seconds before he does this.
"Meh, why not." Cody said while shrugging his shoulders.
As he steps into the cave, he grabs a flashlight he brought with him and turns it on to light up the dark cave. He goes further into the cave as he scanned the interior with his flashlight. He soon spots something shiny in the cave and spots a weird circular object sitting on a pedestal in the cave. He walks over to it, his curiosity getting the best of him. Once he arrived—having no sense of danger for some reason—grabs the circular object. As he held the object, it suddenly began to glow as blue markings lit up across the object. Instinctively, he drops the object, and it hits the floor. The object begins to shake violently before levitating into the air and going to eye level with Cody. Cody considered turning and running but the object then begins to open into multiple pieces. He looked on in both awe and concern. The object then emits a bright light and it's blinding so Cody shuts his eyes and shields them with his arms. He feels himself go weightless before he feels it return as the light died. He took a few seconds before he opened his eyes.
They widened as he noticed he was in what looked like a study room. The room had bookshelves built into the walls with numerous books filing the shelves, a cozy looking fireplace that was lit, a few comfortable looking chairs, a clean and neat desk with books on it and a window. Cody walked over to the window and looked outside and saw an endless void of stars and galaxies. He looked at it in awe as it was a beautiful sight.
"Where the hell am I?" Cody asked.
"You are in my humble home." A calm voice said.
Cody slowly turned around and saw a man standing by the door of the room. The man wore a nice and neat suit with an orange tie, black leather gloves and black leather shoes. He had snow white hair, a killer looking mustache and a neatly trimmed beard.
"Who are you?" Cody asked.
"I have many names, but one that remains rather consistent is The Advisor." Advisor said.
"The Advisor? An odd name." Cody mumbles. "How did I end up here?"
"Well to answer your question in the simplest way, you've encountered an artifact that has pulled you from your Universe." Advisor answered.
"Wait, I'm in another Universe!?" Cody asked in a panic.
"You are." Advisor answered once more.
"Is there a way back?" Cody asked.
"Fortunately, there is, however I have a proposition for you." Advisor said.
"What kind of proposition?" Cody asked.
"I've looked into your mind the moment you've arrived and have an interesting dream." Advisor said. "A dream of becoming a Helldiver."
Cody was surprised by this. This guy read his mind? That's only something you see in fiction.
"Yeah, what of it?" Cody asked.
"What if I told you that I could fulfill that dream." Advisor said.
"You can!?" Cody asked, joy evident in his voice.
If this is true, then he can finally become a Helldiver. He can finally fight for Democracy! His wildest dream could come true.
"Of course, I can do a great many things." Advisor said. "Though, you won't be sent to the Helldivers Universe."
"Then were will I go?" Cody asked.
"To another called, Halo." Advisor said. "But first, there are a few things that must be done before I can send you."
"That being?" Cody asked.
"I must inform you on any changes or upgrades that I'll be adding." Advisor said. "Firstly, you will be given a Super Destroyer alongside a small crew to operate it, a small selection of Stratagems, and other essential gear needed by a Helldiver. The crew of this ship will be loyal to you and will follow every command you give them. Your ship will also have an added invisibility mod, so your ship doesn't get spotted by anything or anyone allowing you to use it without worry."
"Anything else?" Cody asked.
"Yes." Advisor confirms. "You will have to gain new Stratagems based on UNSC Technology. I will give you the knowledge you need to operate UNSC Vehicles and weapons alongside Covenant Vehicles and weapons. Now you'll need to come up with a cover story about how you attained your technology and that's something I'll let you come up with."
"Can it be anything?" Cody asked.
"Of course." Advisor said.
"Alright, how about this. My technology came from a Human planet that had been forgotten and was unfortunately destroyed." Cody suggested.
"Hm, that could work." Advisor said. "What should you call this planet?"
"Super Earth." Cody answered.
"Expected that answer." Advisor said with a smile. "Now, what shall you name your ship?"
Cody gave it thought before he came up with the perfect name.
"The SES Hammer of Dawn." Cody answered with a dramatic tone.
The Advisor merely nods, accepting it.
"Now, before I send you off, I must inform you that I'm giving you the knowledge so you can fight like a Soldier. That way you don't have to go through training." Advisor said.
"Got it."
"One more thing, there is a lot of information you need to know before you enter the Halo Universe." Advisor said.
He then went on to talk about the Human-Covenant War, some basic knowledge about something called the UNSC and the Covenant, and more. Cody took it all in and he realized that he's entering a War. He figured he would be if he becomes a Helldiver, so he isn't too surprised. The Advisor even showed him images of the foes and people he'd face in this new Universe. After he took it all in, The Advisor made the images vanish before speaking.
"Good luck, Helldiver." Advisor said.
The Advisor then snapped his fingers and Cody's vision went black. It took a few moments before Cody regained his vision as his eyes opened. As his vision cleared, he saw the interior of a Super Destroyer. He quickly looked around before he saw the Ship Master. He paid her no mind as he looked around the ship, he found himself in. He then got all giddy and began exploring the space around him. He then noticed he was wearing Helldiver armor and even had the main starter weapons. The AR-23 Liberator and the P-2 Peacemaker. He was like a kid in a candy shop. He eventually calms himself down and began planning his first action. He walks over to the Galactic Map and turns it on before a map of the galaxy appeared.
"Ok.... what planet should I liberate first?" Cody whispers to himself.
From what he can see, the UNSC is indicated by a green color, and the Covenant is indicated by a purple color. So far from what he can see, the UNSC is getting their ass kicked and he's going to change that. He searches through planets to go to, and he comes across Earth. He figured that if he's going to bring the fight to the Covenant, he should first make peace with the UNSC. So, he sets course for Earth letting his new journey begin.
