Chapter Three
Dawn Pov.
"Do you have anything we could use to escape?" I had asked Rae Rae when we were caught last night but she had shrugged like it didn't matter to her anymore.
And that man had ordered us to work on the rogue beasts who had gone mad due to severe upgrades in their mental power. Not that I understood.
But the girls and guys had been giving me serious funny looks since we began our journey there this morning. Not gon' lie, her bedroom was lit!.
So spacious I could fit fifty people there and there would still be room for more and the bathroom, don't get me started on that hot spring.
Oh my God, I think I visited heaven and came back in smiles…
"And where do you think you're going?" A voice sliced through the air and the surrounding became silent, the murmuring of students fading instantly.
My brows furrowed as I glanced around only to stop in my tracks when I saw three girls standing right in front of me, blocking my path.
My brain tingled as Rae Rae woke up.
"I leave you for an hour and you find the devil by yourself?" She asked mockingly and my lips twitched as I stared at the girls.
They were all strikingly beautiful but the one in the middle took the crown, in my world, she would be a model and a super model at that but too bad, her career life ended in a diplomatic marriage here in this world.
"Where do you think I'm heading to?" I shot back. Her eyes widened a fraction at my tone but it returned back to how it was before but in those eyes, I saw a cold calculation that made my brain tingle.
"You think you're something, right? Going toe to toe with me as if you belong on that pedestal you placed you-"
"Can't you like get a job? You recite the same thing over and over again and frankly, it's starting to irritate me" I cut her off, my gaze lazily watching her every move. That was why when her eyes flashed red with anger, I anticipated her next move and as soon as her hand came for my face. I dodged and sent her a smirk.
"Really? Do better" I walked past her shocked self and continued on my way.
But I clearly underestimated her and the next thing I know, I am sent flying straight across the ground.
Fuck that hurts.
"Y--you haven't eaten" I asked as I stood up to my feet and I saw her eyes redden furiously before a large air ball was conjured up on her hands and she aimed it at me.
"Keep it up and we might just have to reboot the damn system and exchange you" Rae Rae mumbled and I chuckled.
"Royal wannabe" she cursed as she launched the air ball but she clearly miscalculated her ability to control it and the massive air ball deviated course and flew past my location, headed straight to the rogue beasts caves that was locked down by a shield.
Her air ball slammed hard into the shield and a resonating crack filled the silent space. Another one came again and we all stood there, hearts in our throat as we watched.
And then it shimmered, flickered then the whole thing fell and howls reached my ears.
"This is not good, those beasts will kill everyone here in this school if released" Rae Rae gasped within me, her whole body trembling at the thought of our death.
"Is my power enough to do something?" I asked and her whole body lit up before it dimmed.
"what is it?" I asked again and she sighed.
"You could. But you'll be so seriously depleted that a week of coma would be your next move" she said, sarcasm dripping off her every word and I smirked even though fear rose inside of me, rearing it's head like a warning that I couldn't afford to take right now.
"Get the students off this part of the school now and someone get the instructors and Principal Wallace here," I yelled, turning to the stunned students when the sounds of metals clacking together began to reach my ears.
"Why should we listen to you? What do you think you can do?" The girl from earlier bitched at me but I saw fear flash in her eyes and I chuckled, the sound without the amusement that it had before.
"I don't know… because you don't want to die young?" I fired back, my voice raising slightly at the end and her eyes began twitching uncontrollably as her two friends turned around and fled the place.
The other students took it up on themselves to do the same too but the girl stood there, motionless as she stared at the caves direction.
"Slowly, turn around" Rae Rae whispered and my brows furrowed together as I did as she asked and what I saw made my heartbeat accelerate slightly.
A mangled bleeding beast twice the size of normal beasts stood there, snot drizzling off its nose that flared with each growl. It's eyes looked crazed and pure black with sharp fangs that lengthened down past its jaws.
It's eyes were locked on none other than the crazy girl from earlier and seemed to not have notice me move yet.
"Will you look at that.. a crazy beast going to kill the crazy chick. Isn't this just the right plot twist every leopard loves"Rae Rae gushed with glee in my head and my lips twitched with a fleeting amusement just before the beast sprang forward.
His paws pounded the ground as he made his way towards the girl, she still stood frozen but as soon as he shot past me, she screamed and turned to flee.
But the beast was faster and I knew if I didn't stop this quickly, that fool would perish under the beast's claws.
Taking her distraction as a good time to act, I instantly transformed into the fox, seeing that I had grown twice the size I was before but still, I looked small in comparison with the beast.
Lunging forward, I aimed at it's vital points which I took as the neck but as soon as I made contact, I knew that was a mistake.
The next thing I know, I was sent flying into a large apple tree by the side.
Now the beast was enraged.. and staring menacingly at me..Fuck!!!!
