Chapter 6: The Cat-Eared, Beast-Tailed Girl
Yuri Kai didn't care about the glares he was receiving. He had arrived at the agreed-upon time. If they wanted to come early and enjoyed waiting, whose fault was that?
Yuri Kai gave the group an unbothered glance. But in their eyes, that glance was a naked provocation. In an instant, the anger in their hearts burned even hotter.
And the scene that unfolded next pushed them right to the brink of rage.
"You're here," Tenzo asked faintly.
"Yeah," Yuri Kai replied faintly.
It was a very normal, ordinary exchange. But it was precisely because it was normal that it wasn't normal.
Tenzo was the ANBU Captain, the number one man in the organization. For a rookie who had just joined to use that kind of tone with the Captain, and even make the Captain speak first, could he be any more arrogant? This was a blatant insult to the Captain, a sign that he didn't respect him at all.
The anger in their eyes as they looked at Yuri Kai was almost a physical thing.

In almost a single instant, all nine of them, including the two veteran ANBU members who were Special Jonin, challenged Yuri Kai.
Normally, the two veteran members were only here to supervise the rookies and wouldn't need to participate in sparring. But this was different. Yuri Kai had dared to be this disrespectful. It was intolerable.
Faced with the flood of challenges, Yuri Kai just shrugged, thinking what a hassle this was.

Yuri Kai was surprised. What a pleasant bonus.
But before he could think more on it, the nine ninja could no longer hold back.

The nine ninja, kunai in hand, charged at Yuri Kai.
Seeing this, the amused curve of Tenzo's lips deepened. He thought to himself: "Go ahead and torture me yesterday. Let's see how you handle this today!"
Although Tenzo had been completely owned by Yuri Kai yesterday, he didn't think for a second that Yuri Kai could be a match for these nine.
The only reason yesterday happened was because he had been careless. He had let that taijutsu-type summon get in close, and he could never find a chance to use his ninjutsu.
But today was different. Setting aside the two Special Jonin, the other seven Chunin alone would be more than enough to overwhelm Yuri Kai. Even if he used his [Summoning Technique] again, it would be impossible to block all nine of them.

As for that Elite Jonin-level summon, Tenzo wasn't worried. Lord Hokage had said that summon was too strong. At his current level, Yuri Kai couldn't possibly summon it for a proper fight. If he summoned anything, it would have to be that little loli. And while that loli was strong, her combat experience was seriously lacking. There was no way she could handle nine opponents at once.
Having thought it all through, Tenzo crossed his arms, ready to enjoy the show.

Just as he expected, Yuri Kai used the [Summoning Technique].
Tenzo smirked. His predictions were spot on.
But in the next second, the smile on his face froze, replaced by shock and confusion.
"That's not right. Shouldn't it be the little loli? How could it be..."
A red light flashed, a complex magic circle appeared, and a figure suddenly materialized.
She had a cat tail, beast ears, and two black devil wings on her back. Beneath a head of white hair was a pair of calm, unfazed eyes. She was petite, but had a unique and captivating charm. Her small frame just made you want to pull her into a hug and cuddle her.
"Summoning: High School DxD, Koneko Toujou, human-form Devil!"
"Koneko, go! Take them out!"
Koneko Toujou's fluffy tail swished gently. In the next instant, she had already vanished like a lightning bolt, rushing toward the nearest Chunin and throwing a punch.
"What is that? A summoned beast?!"
The nine ninja were stunned. They hadn't expected this rookie to actually know the [Summoning Technique]!
But they quickly calmed down. So what if he could? Even with the summon, that was only two of them. They had nine.
"Don't panic! Keep her busy! The rest of us will handle this!" one of the Special Jonin quickly commanded.
Receiving the order, the Chunin targeted by Koneko gritted his teeth and charged forward to intercept her. He thought to himself that he was a Chunin. Surely he could hold off a mere summoned beast?
But in the next second, he was dumbfounded.

The punch landed with the force of a mountain, slamming the Chunin directly into the ground. He was instantly knocked unconscious, completely out of the fight.
"Hiss! Such incredible power!"
A series of sharp, indrawn breaths came from the others. They hadn't thought this summon's strength would be so terrifying as to take out a Chunin in a single punch.
"Create distance! Attack with ninjutsu!"
"[Water Release: Water Severing Wave]!"
"[Earth Release: Earth Spikes]!"

One after another, long-range offensive ninjutsu flew toward Koneko. Against a taijutsu-type opponent, the most effective tactic was to pull back and attack with ninjutsu. With so many of them attacking at once, there was no way she could take it.
The remaining eight ninja thought this confidently.
However, in the next moment, they were all dumbstruck.

Faced with the barrage of ninjutsu, the petite figure didn't even try to dodge. She simply punched every single jutsu, smashing them all to pieces.
Even more terrifying, the eight offensive ninjutsu hadn't managed to singe a single hair on her head.

But this... this cat-eared, beast-tailed girl had just... taken all of their jutsu without a scratch.

By the time the eight ninja snapped out of their shock, Koneko was already in their midst.
