The beastmen fell silent under Valeo's anger.
There was no one who did not acknowledge Valeo as their leader. The one they refused to acknowledge was Fiora. And they did not want the two of them as a single package.
Their thoughts were echoed by Shani, who suddenly appeared from the side. She had been watching from behind the trees for some time, but chose this moment to step forward, creating an unsettling presence.
"We all recognize you as our leader, Valeo," Shani said. "What we're saying is that you should listen to the tribe members rather than the words of a human female."
With Shani's appearance, the tribe members seemed to receive a surge of confidence.
Fiora knew Shani did not belong to any team. She was the granddaughter of Shaman Zelka, the tribe's healer and Shani's mentor as the next shaman.
Because of that, Shani's words carried weight. She had real influence here.
